It's a very simple accommodation, but the dirth don't justify the simplicity. They should be more carefull with the hygiene in the rooms and in the kitchen. It's a family property, and the kids help in attendance, and I really appreciate they carefull with us, specially Ashley and Wesley, they are very nice, and Maurice is very organised with the trips. The Volcano view from the bungalow is amazing!!!!
I know that's a rustic accommodation, and I really don't care for bugs and mosquitos, but for me was very complicated to sleep hearing rats around. They should be more careful, using poisons or just having done cats around. I don't know.

Morris and his family are some of the most beautiful people on Earth and showed sincere hospitality. Staying here was the highlight of our trip, it is truly a special experience and one we will never forget. The village and volcano, walking in the jungle and meeting the people there is not something money can buy. It is nice to leave behind our lifestyles and get back to basics living in a grass hut, living on jungle food and going without electricity, hot water and so on. Very special, highly recommended.

Authentic getaway at the base of the volcano!
Posted May 16, 2019 on HotelsThis was a wonderful place near the volcano and authentic, essentially almost living with the owner's family. The owner was kind, honest and professional. He assured my arrival at the airport for an 8 am flight, despite the long truck ride in over a difficult route. Proximity of the volcano is marvelous and you hear it rumbling all night. Great for an authentic getaway (too bad transport to and from is so expensive..5000 vat, but that is the case everywhere).

Pros: quiet setting, near the volcano, good food, friendly owners!
Cons: nothing
Location: Yasur Volcano, Hot Springs, local villages
We landed at Tanna Airport and we’re met by Morris (the owner) for the trip to our vacation location. We rode for about 90 minutes inside an air conditioned 4x4 over some impressively rough and steep roads (or maybe trails?). The skilled driver made no mistakes and we arrived safely. On the way to the hut, we stopped and got a great view from the base of the Yasur Volcano .
Once we arrived at The Volcano Island Paradise Morris had already arranged a trip to the Volcano (last tour of the day, and you will need to be there by 4pm). The tours are run by a private company and may get more expensive - they were 9750VT per person (about $97US) when we went. Be sure to wear shoes that cover your toes - flip flops were a mistake for us!
Morris picked us up after the tour and dinner was waiting for us by the time we arrived. Susie (Morris’ wife) cooked al the meals during our stay from local ingredients.
The hut we stayed in was simple but comfortable. It had one single and one double bed, both with mosquito netting (not required for our stay this time of year), an attached bathroom with solar heated water and shower. We also had Solar Electric lights and device charger in the room. The room had a great view of the Volcano and you could hear it erupt day and night.
Morris and his family were the best hosts you could ask for. They really wanted to share their life style with us. Mathew (Morris’ son) took us on a walking tour of t

Pros: The view was amazing
Cons: Hot water for showers
Location: Not easy to get a taxi to, so make sure you arrange a transfer in advance. There are also minimal atm's on the island of Tanna, so make sure you bring
This was the perfect place to stay and see the Mt Yasur volcano and understand how the locals live. The view was sensational. We could see and hear the volcano at night. Our host Morris was incredibly humble and thankful for our visit and was very accommodating.
It is simple living, but that is how the locals do it. We stayed for 2 nights and would absolutely recommend it.
