Always a great stay at the Ashton. The staff are great and the hotel is in a perfect spot a short way to the train station. Very accommodating in holding bags before check in. LOVE this place!

We were charged £95 for one night for a twin room with no breakfast, the room first offered was right at the back (in the backyard), it felt cold, damp and dark and had a smoking area right outside- so it smelt of smoke and people stood by the door smoking and talking loudly on the phone! It seemed like an old garage- though the decor was good! we asked to be moved. The staff were amazing and gave us a room upstairs but it became apparent that this was a children’s extension to another room, with a locked door between, but there was no soundproofing between the rooms or under the door- everything was heard both ways! The rooms looked like they had been recently refurbished but the beds were very small and I didn’t sleep at all well as I was uncomfortable! The staff wanted to offer a refund but as we had booked through Expedia they could not! They advised us to ask Expedia for a refund! I would not pay more than £60 for either of these rooms!!
I hope this message gets through to someone- I will be seeking a refund!
