Tired room, shabby in places, tiny balcony that looked over a field was too small to sit 2 people on comfortably, poor vegetarian choice (one only) on the menu, very poor value for money. Breakfast was basic. Staff were attentive and helpful but the standard and maintenance of the room we had and the pricing structure was not in any way up to a high end experience.

Hello Mr. NI do not normally respond to a review in this way. However on this occasion I really must rebut some of your comments.I have just checked the room that you stayed in. I noticed two down lights which need to be replaced, Yes, I will take that on the chin. So too the 'blown' window in teh French Doors. This is not unknown to me and is schedule for the shut down after Christmas. But it is not a shabby room, it does need a soft furnishings uplift (headboard, ottoman, cushions, throw, blinds etc.) and this too is scheduled after the summer season.As to the menus. I must disagree with you: Our menus are very good. We use high quality local and fresh produce and our breakfasts are very good too, and certainly not basic. One needs merely to read the breakfast menu to see this. You booked 2 nights B&B and you did not tell us that you were Vegetarian. You booked your meal(s) in the day and still did not advise us. Had you advised us or asked at the time we could have offered alternative vegetarian options from out tasting menu of from the Evening lounge menu. Or we could have made something especially for you; as we often do.As for the balcony: it is what it is, just slightly bigger than a 'juliet' balcony and you would not assume you could sit on one of those!All the best.

Thank you very much for your review, feedback appreciated.It's true that we have only Peroni on draught but we do sell lots of bottled beers and non alcoholic too as well as ciders too.As regards the evening Table d'Hôte menu. It is comparably excellent value which includes canapés, bread, still or sparking bottled waters, starter, main, dessert and coffee and petit fours. Each meal is made to order on demand with truly the finest quality locally sourced produce and is designed to delight one's palate as well as one's eyes.

Liked the hotel set in quiet country location, room was spacious and clean with all amenities you would expect. Bed was very comfortable, and excellent power shower although we were informed on check in that the bathroom window was broken and couldn’t be opened. Both dinner and breakfast were fine on the quality but lacking in quantity; very small portions. Other customers were also commenting on this issue at dinner. Whilst the service overall was ok the service at breakfast was very slow and extra toast ordered was forgotten with the waitress offering a lacklustre apology and we weren’t asked how our stay was at checkout which is something I would expect to be asked after a stay at this type of hotel.
