Great environment
Publié le 31 déc. 2024 sur HomeAwayAll the comforts from home - in a stationary RV! Comfortable stay of the beaten track. The unpaved road leading up to the accomodation was bumpy. The tranquility is overpowering in a good way coming from the Houston area and yes - you can see the Milky way with the naked eye. Hosts are friendly and extremely helpful. Defintely recommend this to travellers wishing to escape to West TX

False advertising
Publié le 11 déc. 2024 sur HomeAwayDid not know the RV was underneath their carport, and about 50 feet from their front door. The porch had two shotguns or rifles too easily accessible to anyone. Owners were not home for the weekend, but apparently their employees were. They live on the same property. Rental is not as isolated as suggested. It did not feel safe so, we didn't stay.

This guest was not your normal guest. Shotguns mentioned in their review are actually BB guns that we keep handy to ward off some critters. Employees reside 400yds away, our housekeeper was there attending to other things and witnessed them walk into rv and then leave. They reported hearing gunshots but upon investigation would’ve found out that they were from over a half mile away and it is hunting season. These guests should have never come to the desert. Certainly not welcome again.

The best part for me was the lack of cell service outside the property. Gave me a great opportunity to disconnect from my every day life

Tranquil Oasis
Publié le 19 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property is located in the awe inspiring Chihuahuan mountains. We were surrounded by untouched nature and entertained by the plentiful wildlife on the property. Our hosts were welcoming and they were very informative about the area and all the natural habitat of the area. The accommodations were comfortable, cozy and clean. We fell in love with the beauty in the area and this vacation truly exceeded our expectations. West Texas is a national treasure and I would highly recommend staying here when visiting.❤️

Delight in the Desert

We enjoyed a comfortable, clean, private, peaceful stay in the desert filled with mountain views, active wildlife, and close accessibility to Big Bend without sacrificing anything. The host is very accommodating and helpful.

Big Bend National Park and area adventure

They made sure we understood how to get to the property and the property was more than we expected. The area around this part of Texas is not heavily populated and with Mark and Michelle's help are trip was fantastic.

Great hosts and property
Publié le 13 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayMy wife and I had a great stay. The hosts were fantastic and the 2BR apartment was very roomy and felt like a home away from home. We traveled each day to Big Bend N.P. for hiking, and ate dinner in town. We ate breakfast each morning at the Bad Rabbit Cafe, and it was excellent each day (can be a bit slow when crowded, but it's worth it). The hot tub was also a nice way to end a long day of hiking. My only comment is to be aware that it's about an hour drive to get to Big Bend hiking each day, including a 2 mile drive on a dirt road. Because of this, we went straight from hiking to dinner each night, rather than going back to the apartment to clean up. Every place to eat in town is super-casual, so it worked out fine that we went to dinner a bit trail worn and dusty.

Beautiful property
Publié le 19 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property is spectacular! The scenery, sunrises, sunsets, and the night sky are all beautiful. Lots of wildlife around during the evenings. Hot tub is a great way to relax after a day of hiking at Big Bend. Mark and Michelle were wonderful hosts, so friendly and helpful. RV has everything needed, including some handy extras (ziploc bags, tupperware, etc.) that you may not have as a traveler. Property is remote, about 45 minutes from Big Bend entrance, but a little extra driving is worth it.
