Clean with comfortable bed and wonderful towels. It is small, but it was built for another time. We had a good meal across the street at Roy Rogers and a good sleep. We left by 7:30 and we had to ask for some half and half for coffee (powdered creamers available- yuck).
Overall, a fine place for an overnight.

Very unclean! The wallpaper was stained and the hotel looked like a fire trap. We left and did not get a refund.

This hotel is exactly as described. It is a very old hotel with lovely quirks. If you are expecting a 5 star hotel, you will be disappointed. If you are looking for a unique experience with an open mind and love antiques, the hotel is wonderful. The bed was comfortable. The town really has nothing to do and the only food is across the street at the bar. The food was good and reasonably priced. The only complaint is that for a VERY small town, there is a lot of noise on main street and mufflers are optional. While the hotel has no control over this, we have opted for other options if we pass this way again.

Thank You for your review. We would love for you to "Try Terry (again)". We actually have four restaurants, The Evelyn Cameron Photo Gallery, The Cameron Heritage Center, The John Schwarz WW 2 Display of Bomber Nose Art at the American Logion, The Museum, The Badlands Wilderness Study Area, The Calypso Trail with the famous Natural Bridges, The Yellowstone River with it's famous Moss Agates, and of course the Historic Kempton Hotel with 123 year history encompassing 44,712 continuous nights of being open. (as of today) This is the longest continuous operating Hotel in Montana. The true West has True working Cowboys and sometimes it gets real.

I have been staying at The Kempton for the last six years. it is quiet, comfortable and safe. The bathroom at the end of the hall way is shared, but is generally not a problem. Terry, Montana is a charming tiny town.
The pricing is excellent, although I do feel that the pet fee of $35 is much higher than most places.

Thank you for your review. Of the 29 separate options for rooms, studios, or cabins, only four have the "shared bathroom" option. The Hotel is 123 years old and as of today has been continuously open for 44,620 nights. Our Pet Fee Policy has been driven by the costs of cleaning and repairing units after pets, not trained or taken care of, have caused damage. We do want to keep being "pet friendly" but unfortunately some peoples pets are not "Hotel friendly".

Tiny rooms with no bathroom,paint falling of the ceiling.Dirty wallpaper .I would never recommend to anyone to stay there.

We wish you would have stated your views when checking in and we would have gladly gave you the opportunity to change rooms. There are only four units that are original to our 123 year Hotel. We keep these available for those travelers who want originality or are looking for economical accommodations. We always have the options for our fully remodeled rooms. We have recently installed a new roof which facilitates the repairs of the over 100 year ceilings and walls. Have patience and we will gain your "10 of 10" rating.

Thank You for your kind review. My Grandmother actually lived here for a few years; circa 1917. We have been open continuously for 44,634 days (today)
