This is a nice fourplex in the southwest border of Thorold, bordering Welland, within a short 15 minute drive to the core of Niagara Falls and 25 minutes to Niagara-on-the-Lake. There are plenty of nearby places to eat and grab necessities (groceries, pharmacy, gas, etc.) in nearby Welland.
The unit had a keypad lock for seamless entry, which auto-locks after a couple minutes for added security. The interior is relatively well maintained and clean (the exception was some splatter on the upstairs bathroom wall and a slight smell of food coming from the couch). All the basic cooking necessities (oil, salt, pepper, utensils, etc.) and toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, even toothpaste were included. While we didn't cook, we could have comfortably done so given the items at our disposal. We did, however, use the dishwasher, which was quiet and worked well.
The main living area is a bit small, but comfortable, for the 6 adult members of my party. We could comfortably seat 4 on the couch and 2 others on the dining room chairs. The WiFi was also good and some of were were able to get work done while streaming a movie on the TV.
The sump pump kept on going off every 7-10 mins because it there was a lot of snow melting while we were there, which was annoying because it would beep every time it went off.
Two of the bedrooms and the basement door had chains on them (like the one you normally find at the front door), which we found a bit odd. The steps from the house into the garage weren't secured to anything so they would wobble a lot. Luckily we noticed before anyone got hurt, but it's something that should get fixed. There was a lot of garbage in the garage, which could have been left behind by the previous guests/wasn't taken out by the cleaners.
Communication with the owner was a bit slow at times but he was very helpful and welcoming.
Overall, the place was very comfortable, had all of the amenities we could have needed, and was located in a great spot for visiting the surrounding area. I would definitely come back here on my next visit to the Niagara area.
