Nice getaway on the Brac

Staying at a local's place was the right choice rather than a "resort" / hotel. We wanted a place on the water with a balcony where we could cook. There were a few things that we liked / was disappointed in with Featherstone: What we liked: The views were great. We were glad we choose the "top" of the house as downstairs you could hear a lot of noise. We enjoyed the hammocks both on the beach and our private deck. The wifi and laundry options were wonderful to have on site. What we didn't like: The kitchen was really grimy: it needed a good wash down. When we arrived the dishwasher and garbage can was full. We told the housekeeper on site this and she said "I know" and walked away. Weird. We emptied the dishes, took out the trash from previous guests. They gave us 2 towels for a week's stay. And the bed had one sheet on it with no covers. Good thing we were able to take what we needed from the storage area below. On a "down" night when we wanted to stay in, we couldn't log into any of the TV subscriptions. It would have been nice to know the coffee machine took Nespresso cups, but no grocery stores in town carried them. We ended up borrowing the coffee machine from the downstairs unit. It'd be great to know prior to arriving what kind of coffee was needed after a late arrival. The flat pillows needed replacing badly! Know that you'll be on site with 2 other rental properties. There were 7 other people at one point around, so you don't have the place to yourselves.

Hi Kristin Thanks so much for your candid review. I am really sorry about your experience on arrival and had strong words with the cleaners. They were very defensive though and said you guys had arrived early before they had a chance to finish getting the apartment ready for you and that when they came back to finish off, were unable to get in. I think this comes down to miscommunication and have asked them to be clearer in future so hopefully this won’t happen again. I have also taken note of your coffee comment and there are now cafetières in all 3 units. I will pick up some Nespresso pods for guest use on my travels too and will also be replacing the pillows soon. Thanks so much for visiting Featherstone! I hope to see you again soon!
