Grazie per la sua recensione, mi spiace che non abbia trovato l’arredamento di suo gradimento. I pezzi di arredamento sono Classici di Design che non passano mai di moda- certamente per buoni intenditori.

Is this a 3,4,5 star place?

We fell in love with the view from the porch, and envisioned having our morning coffee sitting there watching the boats go by. Unfortunately, there was no coffee maker of any sort. Due to a knee injury, my husband needs to sleep with a pillow under his knee, but there were no spare pillows( just one allowed per person - we were told that that was the Italian way). In lieu of a pillow we rolled up the bath towels- but had only been given 2 and they were damp each night. We had been touring for 11 days and were very excited to see the washing machine …. However, it is only available for stays over a week. The checkin process is nerve racking - you have to pick an exact time to checkin. Our train was late, and there was an extra long line at the car rental place — and even with these delays we thought we were going to make it! But then a tree fell on the road in Como and we were stuck watching the fire department clear the road. Because the hostess works, there is no way to check in other than at your appointed time. We were able to make it there and she gave us a self checkin, but the lack of flexibility is tough when you are traveling. Unfortunately, the internet was not working, and my husband works while traveling. I repeatedly tried to get some help from the hostess, but it was never fixed. The apartment is in a beautiful place and was very clean,- but very “bare bones”. There was no welcoming note, just a notice of about 20 things we should not do while there.

Gentile Ospite, le vostre opinioni sono sempre importanti per noi. Tuttavia siamo un po’ confusi, in quanto il caffè era presente, come anche i due cuscini supplementari ed un intero set di asciugamani a testa. La finestra di check-in è ampia e in linea con le altre strutture. È inoltre chiaramente scritto nell’annuncio che la lavatrice è solo per un uso interno o per soggiorni di una settimana, ci sono comunque lavanderie in zona. L arredamento è di design e minimalista abbiamo scelto di dare preferenza alla qualità anziché alla quantità permettendoci così di mantenere igiene e pulizia costanti, scelta , fra le altre cose, sempre apprezzata dai nostri ospiti. E per concludere, il messaggio di benvenuto le è stato inviato tramite la piattaforma VRBO, assieme ad una richiesta di informazioni alle quali lei non ha mai dato un riscontro.

Amazingly beautiful!

I couldn't believe how beautiful the grounds and how much lake access the villa had. I would highly recommend. We felt like we had place to ourselves, as we rarely saw other owners. Only comment on finding gate, is once you see Mandarin gate and check-in roadside, you will be looking for similar gate just up road at end of Mandarin property

Perfect Lake Como stay

Exactly what I imagined when I thought of staying on Lake Como. Super rare find with a huge beautiful balcony on the water. Literally water front on a beautiful property with gardens. I’ve told my friends about this place so they get to have the real Lake Como experience too.

We only stayed two days but enjoyed it very much. The location is outstanding with a beautiful view.

Every single thing about our stay at Villa Taverna was exceptional. A more beautiful location there cannot be! Marcella is a delightful host and very helpful in all regards. Grazie mille!

Gorgeous Location, Rude Host

The location is gorgeous. The host is rude. I booked this location last minute, for two nights. I was looking for some quiet time. In my first communication with the host I informed her of the number of people in my party. She then proceeds to message me 5 different times with exclamation marks and capital letters asking the same question that I had already answered twice. As I was arriving to the property I messaged the host to say that I would be arriving shortly before 4pm as 4pm was the agreed upon time. She sends me a message with an exclamation mark stating the property will not be available until 4pm. Then she sends me a message at 3:45pm saying where are you the property is ready. The taxi driver dropped me off at the top of the hill so I had to walk to the property. Which really wasn't an issue but it took 5 or 10 minutes. She messages me with an exclamation mark I told you to tell the driver to take you all the way down. (So rude) . The key pad to the gate is not on the gate but on the building to the left of the gate so it made things a little confusing and hard to find if it is your first time. When I got to the property at 4:01pm she shows me around. Then shows me this list of things that you cannot do which are not listed on Vrbo. As we were talking she insults the "taxi driver" who is actually a friend of mine who gave me a ride as a favor and not an actual taxi driver. Our in person interaction was only 20 minutes but I couldn't wait for it to be over.

Beautiful Balcony

We loved staying at Velda's place. The location is beautiful, right on the water. She was an excellent host, left us a bottle of wine, and gave us a tour of the property and suggestions on how to get into Torno etc. You can actually swim in the lake from her place as well. The apartment had everything we needed but the balcony was stunning. My only complaint was that the check in process was not communicated very clearly. We didn't realize that it was a gated drive and Velda must be there to open the gate. We circled around the area several times trying to find the place. It was very complicated for first timers to the lake. We also didn't know checkin was from 2-4pm ONLY. Velda had said check in was at 2, so I assumed it was any time after 2. After digging around and finding my confirmation email, I saw the fine print stating 2-4pm. I think it was just a language barrier that created most of the confusion. Aside from checking in, everything was fantastic. Velda was so sweet, and I would highly recommend staying here!

Dear Chelsea, Thank you for your review, it was a pleasure to host you in my place! I am sorry you haven’t felt at your ease with the check in procedure, which is sent by VRBO prior to your arrival with needed instructions and pics, it’s clearly stated that it is immediately after the Mandarin Oriental and there are pics of the concierge house and entrance gate- if you read the instructions you cannot miss it! And for check in time, you asked to arrive at 5:30 , and it was fine even though my check in window is from 2 to 4, but then you changed your plans and that same day you wrote you arrived earlier and I accepted! I am not an hotel and check in time agreed should be respected as I am not in the Villa all day, I have other commitments too! Thank you
