Tres décevant.

Ensemble décevant au regard du prix très élevé. Certes, l’hôtel a une jolie histoire et a connu un bel âge d’or, mais il est vieillissant. La vue de la chambre comme du restaurant étaient splendides, et le petit déjeuner offrait un choix très varié. En revanche, la chambre était très vieillotte, la porte fermait mal, la fenêtre calfeutrée au scotch… Et la propreté très moyenne: poil dans la douche, dessous du lit pas nettoyé, moquette pas aspirée, couverts pas nickels, projections de peinture sur les murs, paquet de gâteaux entamé… Le repas du réveillon, malgré le prix, n’était pas d’une grande qualité non plus, et les serveurs du petit déjeuner peu souriants. Bref, nous avons été très déçus pour le prix que nous avons payé.

In desperate need of a make over but nice staff

At first sight of the hotel it is very obvious that it is in desperate need of some TLC. It stated 4 star but I would find it difficult to give it 3 stars. It probably would have been 4 star about 20 years ago. The staff more than make up for the tired property. They were more than helpful and could not do enough for us so 10/10 for them. The building itself has seen better days, the rooms were clean but very tired, new carpet, curtains and paint desperately needed. The bed was very comfortable and room spacious, since we got an upgrade to a room due to security of a lower room I was unable to leave window open. Excellent shower and bathroom was roomy. Variety of drinks in bar is limited and we did not eat in the restaurant. Not far from restaurants and bars but a bit of a hill climb on your way back. If renovated would stay here again.

This hotel is definately not 4 star. It is very dated & in need of a makeover.

The property requires a serious make over. Carpets in rooms and some corridors, need a good clean/replacement. The taps in our bathroom leaked and the bathroom light flickered constantly. Two of our wardrobes lacked a rail to hang clothes and the safe was situated on the floor of the wardrobe. (Receptionist was told on the first day of our stay and six days later nothing had changed!. A number of clients complained to us about the queuing regime before meals likening the process to ‘Butlins’
