Nice stay

This property is as represented in the listing, in a gated community, safe and clean. We had 10 family members, ages 12 through adult, and fit very comfortably in the villa. The beach was lovely and only a short walk down from the villa. It was very suitable for our teenage children, who loved the waves. The beach is a bit rocky (the villa had 4 beach chairs, which was nice), so recommend bringing water shoes. I highly recommend using the chef services. We had two meals prepared a day for 10 people and the food was delicious. It was also nice to have a driver available. We stayed mostly at the pool and beach but also went to blue hole and went tubing on the White River, both of which were close by.

First time in Jamaica

This was my first time going to Jamaica and I had an amazing experience. The food was AMAZING, Price and Gregory knew what they were doing in the kitchen. Mr. Johnson was very informative and very patient with us. He was always there when we needed him. Herma assisted us the best way she could. The only thing that bothered me was the fact that we did not receive some of the food we requested, it kind of made me wondered where did our money go? The villa comes with a breakfast and dinner menu, when we arrived we told the chef exactly what we wanted, everything started off fine but towards the middle of our stay it looked like they gave us what they wanted to, I never received my bbq chicken meal, 2 of my friends order a lobster tail and didn't receive it and none of us received the desert we requested. It started to become confusing and we didn't know what to expect each day for breakfast and dinner. The portions were also very small, my friends and I always had to look for something else to eat after or waited for breakfast the next day. The communication was a bit off due to some of the workers not having service, this resulted in us not having breakfast on our last day. There was a lot of construction going on so the view was not pretty. The wifi does not work in the whole house, I had to keep going down the stairs to the living room, if i wanted good service. We were very limited due to COVID-19 and the curfew so we didn't get to see as much as we wanted to, but overall I had a great time.

Thank you for staying with us, we appreciate your business. In regards to your other comment, regarding the meals. Guests are in charge of your menu and the price of the groceries. After returning from grocery shopping the chef went through your grocery receipts with the head of the group and provided the receipts for your records. All menu selections are recorded in the chef's logs and go over with the guests. It's my understanding that some members of your group requested different dinners and the chef prepared accordingly. However, after seeing the other meal, two-member is in the group, said that what they originally requested was not what they received, they wanted the lobsters. The house manager and the chef reviewed the log with your group and me and what was recorded and purchased is what the chef prepared. It was then alleged the chef wrote the wrong meals down., despite reviewing it with you, prior to purchasing the groceries. With regards to the portions, you are in charge of your groceries and the chef can only prepare what was purchased. However, the house manager explained that after you finished your dinner, your party would have cocktails and would be smoking. Your party would eat the remaining food, that you asked to be left on the stove. During your meal planning, the chef asked if you would like breakfast for departure. You said no, the chef again asked the day prior to your departure and you again said no. On the morning of your departure, you texted me, at 7:34 AM, that there was no breakfast. I immediately checked the main chat room set up for communications with staff, which I also monitored. There was no message in the group. I also spoke with the chef and he advised that you did not request departure breakfast. You then informed me that you sent the message to the manager's phone later that night. At 7:44, you confirmed that you send the house manager a text message later that night, which she did not see until I called her. Your departure from the villa was scheduled for 8 AM. As there was not enough time to go get groceries and prepare breakfast. The staff quickly warmed up the leftovers from the fridge, which you had prior to leaving the villa. On reaching the airport you text in the formal group to let us know you had arrived and that you had a lovely time. Your group also wrote in the testimonial book. We will continue to ensure guests in the future only send messages to the group message room. Once again, I appreciate your stay with us.

10 family members (ages 1-53) vacationed together and we had a great stay at Cavel's place. The service is amazing--the staff is extraordinary. The location is just a few miles outside of Ochi so we had plenty of time to relax when we were not exploring. The food! Try to give the chef as much reign over the dishes as possible. We ate like kings/queens. It was easily on par with or better than anything we got outside of the home. Every single member of the team went above and beyond for us. Overall, I'd recommend the home to anyone looking to explore Jamaica at their own pace.

An unforgettable stay

The home was very nice. The rooms were spacious. The master suite bedroom and bathroom was immaculate. The balcony view was nice. We loved the staff. Chef Sherman did a fantastic job on the food. Adrian was the best bartender. Brian is the groundsmen but he did more than just upkeeping the pool and grounds. Mrs. Herma made sure we had everything and that we were treated great. I feel so bad that i can't remember the housekeeper's name, however she was the sweetest. She remembered my birthday and greeted me with a hug and happy bday. That was the icing on the cake. The whole staff made mu birthday and anniversary a very special one. I will definitely recommend this villa and plan on returning soon

Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful villa. We really enjoyed ourselves! Perfect for 3 families to be together! And your staff is the best, I hope that Herma gets better after the operation! Special thanks to Adrian who really took his time with us and especially with the kids. And the chef is so good, made really good Jamaican food for us. And Deandra. We wanted to take all of them home .Glen the driver was also a really good guy. But we are really happy that we chose your villa and not a hotel! Thank you very much and tell the staff that they are the best! Love them All of them!

Hospitality at it's Finest

We had the most magical stay at this gorgeous villa. The tropical setting, the spacious accommodations, the attentive staff, the warm hospitality and loving care they showered us with...everything was absolutely wonderful! They spoiled us! We miss them all! And the massages by Caroline (she came to the house!) were the best we’ve ever had - she was so lovely! She also gave us some great suggestions for nearby beaches & restaurants that were perfect! I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing birthday celebration! It was truly memorable and a beautiful getaway for all 9 of us! Thank you! We can’t wait to go back someday soon!

We had a wonderful time,though did not have enough time to enjoy all the amenities

Overall , it was a good experience.Our arrival was a little sketchy though.There was an issue with the water and we had no tap water available that night,and the electricity also went out briefly .We didn't get the described welcoming cocktail or meal and had to send to out to get groceries to make the meal and did not eat until after 9p.We were apparently supposed to receive a menu prior to arrival but I had not received this info.Thereafter things improved .Shamel was an excellent cook, Herma and Deandra were very good,friendly and accomodating, although the first day when we went out and returned it did not appear that housekeeping had been done or fresh linens replaced. For the remaider of the stay we had no significant issues and felt lke we were at home.I would recommend for future visits that some staples like tea,coffee,sugar ,maybe some snacks be kept on hand in case someone wants to have a cup of tea or coffee on arrival ,of course which we could have added to the bill later.I did not get to partake of much of the amenities as we were out almost every day . The teens used the pool and it appeared to b always clean and well maintained, thanks to Brian.I didnt venture to the beach as my children told me it would not be easy for me to access .The availability of transportation was a huge plus.I would definitely consider Ocean View Villas again and would recommend to my friends.

Thank you for taking time to write this review. The staff and I am truly very happy that you had a great time at the villa, and are glad that transportation was helpful during your stay. I apologize for any confusion surrounding the menu. We request that our guests provide us with their menu choice at least one week prior to arrival at the villa. This is a great feature to ensure a great start to your vacation upon arrival. Unfortunately, upon your arrival, there was a major water pipe burst on the main road which prevented the flow to our pipe. I hope that the staff was accommodating as our maintenance person was quick to act and connect to our backup water system. I am glad you enjoyed your stay, and truly appreciate your business and feedback.
