Amazing Property!

No beach access, other tenants on property (disruptive and rude)
Publié le 26 août 2023 sur HomeAwayListing is completely fraudulent. "Easy beach access" includes a 3 foot drop off of a rusty step ladder onto wet slippery rocks. Completely unsafe and unusable. Luckily, there is a beach nearby so the entire trip wasn't ruined.
House was messy and covered in bugs. We had to clean before we could even any of the outdoor furniture or kitchen.
Host also didn't inform is until after we had passed our refundable date that there would be other tenants on the property. These tenants were loud and disruptive and rude.
We also parked in the designated parking spots and our car was hit by something and caused major damage to the driver side door.
Not sure what the host wanted us to do with the linens. As per her instruction we left all the linens in the laundry basket by the washer and dryer but now I'm getting additional cleaning fees for making them do "extra laundry".
Overall a bad experience, save the effort and rent somewhere else.

Thank you for your review in response I will address each point in turn:
The house has received an average review score of 4.7 Exceptional from 84 reviews. Comments include the following comments ‘Reviews and listings were on target’, ‘Reviews and listings were on target’ and ‘Everything about it was more than expected’. We feel that the advertising is a fair reflection of the house and not fraudulently advertised.
The house us advertised as easy beach access as the beach is less than 2 minutes’ walk away through the park next to the house. The house is not advertised as direct beach access as storms can wash away the sand in front of the house exposing the slippery rocks. The wooden steps from the house (that are on a metal frame) lead to the shore.
We have used the same cleaning group for the last 7 years and have received many compliments on the cleanliness of the house when people arrive. We are sorry that you did not find this to be the case. We could have easily addressed this problem if you had informed us at the time and not 4 days after you left.
The house is situated on a half-acre lot with the two buildings on opposite corners. The neighbor’s houses are closer than the tenant’s apartment, so we do not see this as a problem. Our tenants (a professional couple) have been with us for 5 years and returned from holiday on the 22nd August. We are unsure of who you spoke to.
The additional cleaning and laundry fee is representative of the amount of time that our cleaning team took to tidy up after your stay. The house normally takes 4 hours to clean, due to the amount of sand and grass walked into the house, it took the team 8 hours to clean.

Colchester Getaway

The sun room was perfect to play games and to relax and listen to the sounds of the lake. Location is close to several excellent wineries and brew pubs. Would definitely return.

Relax and Replenish

Very nice cottage stay in excellent location!
Publié le 29 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayThe cottage was clean and spacious, with everything we needed such as linens, towels, etc. We were pleasantly surprised with how generously equipped the kitchen was with dishes and equipment! The sun room was our favorite spot with amazing views, and the outdoor seating provided lots of opportunities to enjoy the fresh air. Our favorite aspect was the location - a 2 minute walk from a park with a playground and splash pad for the young kids, and access to the beach. So convenient! Also we were very impressed with the communication with the host, she was so prompt on replying and provided all the info beforehand making our stay easier. Overall a great experience!

Great retreat on the lake
