Welcome to River Life Paradise! We welcome you to our 2 bedroom, 1 bath with fully equipped kitchen cottage located 50 feet from the bank of the beautiful Boardman River with a private patio, relaxing outdoor year round hot tub, and yard on 18 acres of private property and more than 2600 feet of riverfront. The cottage can accommodate 6 people. The Boardman offers tubing, kayaking, and canoeing (we can provide equipment if needed). The river is also a Blue Ribbon trout stream and the fishing is second to none. The water is crystal clear. We also have a hiking trail that guides you along the many natural features of the property. This is great place for a short walk. You will encounter many types of wildlife here. Deer, Porcupine, River Otter, Beaver, Bald Eagles, Hawks, Owls, Osprey, and even the occasional bear. Come and hunt mushrooms or do some bird watching.
We are located 10 miles outside of Traverse City. Far enough from town to enjoy peace and quiet, and a never ending sky full of stars. Yet we are close enough that a quick drive offers so much more to do. Traverse City is the gem of northern Michigan offering world class dining, Breweries, Wineries, and views. We are also a quarter mile from the Michigan ATV and snowmobile trail system. Minutes away is the Brown Bridge Quiet area with many hiking trails and beautiful views, also, Ranch Rudolph has horse back riding, dining, and snowmobile rentals! There are trails right out the cottage door to explore. This is a BLUE RIBBON Trout stream offering an abundant amount of Brown trout, and Brook trout with some of the best fishing right in front of the cottage! We look forward to seeing you. Everything you need to relax and get away! 3 night stay in Feb right on the river with hot tub and cozy accommodations. Host John was cordial and friendly. Thank you for sharing your place and providing every amenity needed. Close to TC and wineries. We’d love to come back to enjoy grilling out, campfires and kayaking on the river.

Fantastic Get Away
5 days of peace and quiet. It was the perfect escape from the city. A lot of beautiful snow, a river flowing 50 feet from our back door, and a well-placed hot tub to enjoy both the river and then the stars at night, all in privacy. It was also a bonus to be able to bring our dogs with us. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of our stay, and would definitely go back.

Being right on the Boardman River, this is a great spot to catch your breath and enjoy the peace and quiet. The house is well-appointed and clean, and the hosts are great. Looking forward to staying again and going after some trout.

Amazing Anniversary Getaway

We loved our stay at your home it was perfectly clean most importantly, the beds were wonderful, and the fenced backyard, river, fire pit and hottub were so much fun. Perfect place.

Peaceful river stay
As part of our annual early fall trip we stayed at this place for 5 nights. The setting is very peaceful, quiet and literally right on the very scenic Boardman River. We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub that has a view of the river as well as the camp fire area. This was a place for us to just wind down and relax. We took some day trips to points north including Leland, Charlevoix and Petoskey-very beautiful drive along Lake Michigan and the surrounding area. While the home has some limitations it was clean and well-appointed and suited us reasonably well. Unfortunately, due to a few days of rainy weather and other plans we had we were not able to kayak the river but that is something we would highly recommend. John and his friend, Steve, were very helpful and accommodating. This is great place for those who love the outdoors and want to experience the natural beauty of the area.

Perfect Family Getaway
I cannot say enough good things about this property. This was our 2nd time staying at the cottage. It is very clean and well equipped with linens, towels, kitchen supplies, etc. The host, John, goes above and beyond in accommodating his guests. We used his kayaks several times and he drove us to the drop off points. And, of course, I have to mention how nice it is sitting next to the river drinking a cup of coffee every morning! Looking forward to returning a 3rd time.
