Avis Centrally Located East Bay Home Just Minutes From The Water!

Hi Jessica, Although we appreciate your response & the quick notice regarding the issues you’d found upon arrival, we believe this is an unfair review to say the least. After over 30 guests between Air B&B and VRBO, we haven’t had a single one mention the cleanliness of this property. The cleaners we have assigned to this property have worked for us for over 4 years on 6 properties, and in total have had 1 other complaint in that time span. The previous guest did unfortunately leave some major messes inside and out that our cleaners had to tend to, and I’m sure that allocated towards their lack in other areas. But as for the dusting, bathroom cleaning, and bed sheets… we personally visited the home upon your checkout (due to the complaints and to verify they were fair, in case we needed to have a discussion with our cleaners) and were surprised to see a relatively clean home? This was POST stay and there was no abnormal dust, the bathroom was only as dirty as it’d normally be after 3 days of occupancy (which it was), and most alarmingly we were worried about the cleaners NOT changing the bedsheets at all, as this is unacceptable… we checked those and after 15 minutes of laying each sheet out (each for 4 of the beds) and looking at every inch of them, we found 2 stains roughly the size of a quarter. So in summary, unless this guest not only dusted, cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed the carpet (dirt globs…?), AND purchased new sheets to replace the “stained” ones… then these complaints are not justified. If there are photos, please share them. If there is ANY evidence, please send those to us and/or VRBO. But as it sits, and as I inspected it on Sunday hours after your checkout.. i can comfortably say that this review is unfair and not based on reasonable expectations. Especially for paying $50 per person/per night in a highly desirable vacation town, during one of the most expensive time of the season. I understand reasonable complaints, but when a 1 bed hotel room half a mile down the road is $400 a night, I’d think people would be more understanding of the fact they’re staying at a home built 40 years ago, not the Ritz-Carlton…

Hi Valerie! Thank you for the review and information, you were a great group of guests and would be welcome back anytime! As for the smell in the master bedroom, we actually noticed that as well prior to your arrival but found a wet spot near the door and cleaned it up/sprayed detergent and anti-smell formula's into the carpet. We apoligize for any sort of issue like this as we must've not let it fully dry before closing windows! Thank you again and we are glad you enjoyed your stay :)

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and apologize if there were any leftover dishes/trash upon your arrival… we will talk to the cleaners about that for next time! As for the A/C, we tell guests to run all A/C’s with the ceiling fans on to help cool down the home but can see how the one bedroom without a direct unit can sometimes get hot. We appreciate you looking into our home & following up with a review, so please know your group will be welcomed back whenever you’re in TC again, hopefully with no dirty dishes next time :)
