We thank you for your review and apologize that your experience was anything but a 5 star. However, we would like to take this opportunity to address some of your issues that were brought up. When we spoke on the phone, you had mentioned that it appeared the previous guest had a golden retriever (or similar) dog that had left dog hair. I did speak with my cleaner and before I mentioned the hair, she commented that there was a ton of dog hair and it took her an extra hour+ just to clean that, so it appears she might have missed some. We are pet friendly (as you brought your dogs too) and do not charge an additional cleaning fee. Going forward, we will either adjust our cleaning fee or change to a no pet policy in order to avoid any further issues regarding pet hair. Additionally, our cleaning person changed her schedule (which gave her a smaller cleaning window) in order to accommodate your early check in request. In terms of garbage, we are in rural Montana, so there is no garbage service. We haul it to the dumpsters around the lake. Going forward, I will clarify that in our posting but this is the first time it has been an issue. Regarding pots/pans etc., we have hosted guests with larger parties and longer stays and this is the first comment we have received regarding this issue. Towels: we have 12 of everything and a washer and dryer if needed. Once again, we have hosted larger parties for longer periods and this is the first time this has been an issue. Ceiling fans: I just had them on two days prior to your arrival, so I’m not sure how all the dust and bugs accumulated in that short of time. We do a deep cleaning once a month (which includes fans) to prevent the accumulation of dust and bugs. Toilet: toilet seat was not broken, the screw came loose…..that has been fixed. Washer/Dryer: I just did 3 loads and both work fine. Washer might have come out of balance with an extra heavy load and the dryer won’t operate properly with a dirty lint trap. Also, please keep in mind that it is electric, so it takes longer than gas. In terms of your “camping” comment, I’m not really sure how to respond since you followed it up with “the only thing missing is a hot tub.” I’ve been camping a lot in my life and never once was a hot tub an option. Once again, we apologize that your experience was mitigated to “camping” but I’m sure if you and other potential guests read all of our other reviews from both VRBO and other sites, you will get a much better idea of what your experience will be.
