Des chambres a revoir... dommage bien placé
Publié le 24 août 2024 sur HotelsL'hôtel bien que tres bien situé a besoin de revoir les chambres.. une fenetre sui donnait derrière avec une fenetre en pietre etat. Peinture hors d'âge, mouche collée sur le rebord, on a pas osé fermer cette fenêtre car cela semblait risqué. Pas d'eau chaude lensoir pour la douche. Froide pour moi et tiède pour lamie avec qui je voyageai et qui avais été a l'accueil poser reclamation. Tres complique aussi de se stztionner car le parking du terminal ferry à côté est tres petit et utilise par beaucoup de monde. On avait anticiper en arrivant pour le check in.

Historic building on water close to shops and pubs
Publié le 7 oct. 2024 sur HotelsHistoric property with great location on water. Walkable to all locations in town. Lovely helpful staff. Great restaurant below. Parking is about 2 blocks away in town car park lot so not so great lugging suitcases back and forth but daily rate was reasonable

Lovely area. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Room size very good but needs a lot of attention like most of the hotel. Never seen so many cobwebs. Curtains in room hard to open and close. Took ages for bath to empty. Just needs a couple of handymen going round checking things are working ok.

The views were nice.
I ask for a tea pot as the tea was stewed in a thermos. When i ask for my room to be cleaned the bin wasn't emptyed, and needed to be.

Spent one night only, everything was fine. Parking was public quay-side carpark, less than 50meters away, which required an 8am top-up.

Despite the good location, the property is dated and need refreshing all together. To be honest, customer’s service need to improve considerably right from reception through to dinning. We thought we would have dinner at the hotel on Saturday evening instead of eating out. The receptionist asked us to go to the dining room to be attended to at about 7:15pm, only to be told that the Head chef said the kitchen was closed. There were only few people eating at the time. We couldn’t believe it. So disappointed. The management top brass need to get grip of the situation, otherwise; the hotel will lose business to other hotels in that area!

The Ship and Castle is perfectly ok but would benefit from a refresh especially in the corridors and communal areas. Staff helpful.
