If you’re looking for a chocolate on your pillow and turn down service at night- this isn’t your place. If you love ( like us) fun, funky clean rooms then definitely try this hotel.

If you are tired of corporate "nice"--if you are tired of giving your money to companies who overcharge you and then hire pretty much anyone to staff their hotels--you will LOVE the Desert View Inn. Decision makes are on site. They are genuinely dog friendly and people-friendly, too. My room was spotless, and the view from the hill was spectacular. Everything worked--everything, TV, microwave, refrigerator, lights--they even had real coffee cups to go with the convenient coffee maker. There are tables chairs, trees, flowers outside where people can sit out and enjoy the mountains and the night air. The motel is close to many popular local venues. The room rate is very reasonable. This place is a gem! Thank you to the staff for being so genuine, so kind, so efficient. No corporate QM plan will ever compete with what you have going.

Nothing nice to say…

The furnishings were cheap and tacky, with poor lighting.The beds were old-school (noisy spring mattress) with funky bed linens. (We wondered what was on those nasty bedspreads?!) The small refrigerator's freezer needed defrosting.
The ceiling fans needed cleaning and one of them had only 2 settings: off or high speed. Thankfully, the AC worked well, although it was rather loud. Our room had a code lock on the door, that we didn’t trust- with no inside security lock. Oh, there were also lots of bugs in the room!
