Hyper bruyant

Bruyant, musique insupportable et forte au petit déj, idem sur la plage, et en plus, l'hôtel est en travaux c'est inadmissible. Et il y a des travaux partout autour également. On se dit que le dimanche ce sera plus calme, perdu, le beach club voisin vous pourri votre journée avec de la musique assourdissante et une horde de fêtards venu du bronx. Bref, à éviter absolument si vous restez plusieurs jours. Le faux parking en dehors de l'hôtel est juste hors de prix. Attention il n'y a pas de piscine, tout juste un pédiluve. Lorsqu'il pleut, il pleut aussi dans la chambre ! Dommage car le personnel est super sympa.

Thank you for your comments, but you’re rating a parking that doesn’t belong to us, some renovations going on around, which too do not belong to the property, and the one party from “the Bronx” (totally agree with you, poor taste in their part) that also wasn’t at our property :) but we do thank you for your great comments regarding our staff!

Loved our stay ! the pictures are not representing well enough the hotel. The rooms were great, the location is perfect, the restaurant of the hotel is very very good. The staff is very nice and always looking to make your stay a great experience. Next year in Tulum will definitely go back !!

**DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL** My partner and I went to Tulum for our 2nd anniversary, but our trip was disappointing. Despite being from Mexico, I was shocked by how underdeveloped Tulum is given the high prices. We booked through Expedia and, due to the hotel’s high transportation fees (6k and 8k MXN round trip, around $300/$400 USD), we decided to rent a car. At the hotel, we had to leave a $400 USD deposit—unlike any other hotel I've stayed at. We also had to sign a form for a $50 charge per lost beach towel, considering their poor condition, felt like extortion. Our room had several issues: the window didn't close properly, letting in wind and rain, and the AC barely worked, making the room hot and sticky. We had a terrible night's sleep. When I requested an iron and ironing board, they provided a small, dirty board and an old iron. Dinner was overpriced at $150 USD for two, including $25 for two juices. The food was mediocre. Complimentary coffee, which my husband found gross, was left outside our door in an old-looking basket. Due to the poor hotel experience and bad weather, we decided to leave early. The front desk refused a refund, even with the storm worsening. The staff showed no concern for guest safety. Expedia contacted the hotel on our behalf, but they still refused. In total, we spent $4k, with $2k on the hotel alone, I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. Our experience was terrible, and it’s disheartening to see such exploitation of tourists.

Dear EdithWe are very sorry for the bad experience you explain here you had, although we would like to point some things out about it, since most of them were out of our control/ jurisdiction. The transportation company is not ours, we only send you the details from them, its up to you to book it or no. The holding for incidentals is 300 usd and this is a standar in most of the hotels around the world, it is a deposit like you are saying and it has to be with a credit card, we never charge 400 usd as you are claiming we did. The form signed is for the key of the room and the beach towels, this is a policy in case you lose the items, not an extortion but a quote on how much it will cost to you if you lose them. When you reach out front desk with your concerns, they address them immediately, and those concerns were about the weather, you told the team that you were on your second honey moon and the rain was not fitting for you, later requested a refund because of it and when the team deny it since the reservation was ongoing and the terms and conditions of yours were non refundable, you threatened them with this review. The Ac of your room works perfectly, you deny the assistance after you report it but we check all the rooms before check in and after check out. Restaurants are not part from the hotel, we will pass your commentaries to their managers, also you can leave them a note directly on their own websites. It seems unfair that you blame the staff because of the rain, front desk assist you even before arrival with your inquiry about changing dates without penalty, among other recommendations that you requested via WhatsApp. It only remains for us to wish you the best, we hope that in the near future you give us another opportunity to experience Hotelito Azul at its best.

The Hotelito Azul is a ok hotel, expensive for the facilities. The staff is the best.

If you’re considering Hotelio Azul, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. To start off the check-in experience was an absolute disaster not to mention our room was not ready by the promised time. No worries, we opted to relax by the pool until we could check-in. We ordered two margaritas to only find out we were charged over $40 (USD) per margarita, coincidentally they only wanted to accept cash. It didn’t end here, on our final night in Tulum we opted to end the night early and planned to take a dip in the above-ground hot tub on the rooftop (side note, it closes the second the clock strikes 10 pm). Surprise-surprise, the heater was broken in the hot tub. The rooftop bar staff asked if they could make it up to us by offering us a beer, we accepted and then presented with a check for $16 (USD) for two Modelo’s. We asked if they could charge it to our room since we had no cash or cards in our possession which they refused. They literally followed me down to our room to collect payment for two beers that were originally offered to us free of charge. This place is criminal, if you think I’m joking, Google, “owner of Hotelito Azul Tulum”. I could continue detailing out our terrible experience but it’s more of the same. Do yourself a favor and spend your time and money anywhere else but here. Thankfully, we had only booked three nights at Hotelio Azul and for the rest of our vacation, we stayed at Casa Malca and had an absolutely amazing experience.

Dear Kristen, we are sad to see that you had a bad experience but reading your comments, you’re upset because you had to pay cash for drinks and in your opinion were too expensive, and that makes it criminal? Also because the bars closed at 10pm as advertised, and that also makes it terrible? I don’t think that Casa Malca offered you cheaper drinks or free beers, as you expected as their pricing is higher, but anyway, you can trash out all you want, at the end of the day, all you were interested in was free things or otherwise you would complain and write a bad review, unfortunately, we don’t tolerate blackmail and will for sure see that in the hand full of times it has happened and ended the same as your experience. As you said, you can read that on google and see our policy towards blackmail. Thank you.
