Publié le 10 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayNice location and amenities, did not use sauna or fire pit but both looked great. Beds and living room furniture comfortable. Didn’t do any cooking so did not know how kitchen stocked.

Great location, comfortable stay

The location is great for access to Gooseberry Falls and other popular North Shore spots (Superior Hiking Trail, Grand Marais, Two Harbors, Betty’s Pies, etc.). The space was comfortable and clean. My only concerns were that the traffic from Hwy 61 is very loud when you are outside and the tap water was a murky faint brown (likely from the well water).

Gooseberry Falls is definitely the main attraction at this easily accessible location. Unfortunately, Highway 61 is a popular route no matter where you stay along the shore.
Yes, it's true that our well can experience some settlement over our busy weekends or during rainy periods. However, rest assured that we will promptly address this matter by replacing the filter. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Wonderful stay

Loved this place!
Publié le 20 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was the perfect location for my daughters and me to base from and head out on hikes in all directions. Clean, well stocked, comfortable beds, nice shower. Everything we needed. The only drawback is we had a lower unit and the noise from the upper unit woke us up very early.

Cleanliness was disappointing
Publié le 9 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThe location and space were small (for 6 people) but meet our needs just fine. I was disappointed in the cleanliness/tidiness of the place. There were cobwebs in the corners and hanging from the ceiling. Also, the most bothersome was the amount of dog hair left over from the past renters. Cleaning the floors and furniture appropriately could easily fix this problem but it was passed over.

Thank you for your input, Kristen. Being in a wooded setting, cobwebs are a common occurrence and can happen very quickly. I will be sure to mention the dog hair to our cleaners. At times, no matter how hard you try it's hard to get every last hair. I know our cleaners are very well trained and do their very best.
