Lake Vista from every room.
Publié le 30 mars 2017 sur HomeAwayThe Casa Eclipse is on a lot set on the slopes above the Lake Patzcuaro. It is very rural and about a block from the paved road on a dead end trail. There is only one neighbor (he speaks English) and he is also very private. The house is a compact two bedrooms with the bath on the second level, with the bedrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with a toaster oven and a microwave. The coffeemaker is a single serve like a Keurig, so bring some pods you like, they are not available in Mexico. There are mini supers in Tzintzuntzan that carry most essentials and several large supercenter stores in Patzcuaro. Patzcuaro also has good restaurants while the local offerings in Tzintzuntzan are pretty basic; grilled chicken, tacos, etc.
The beds in the house are very comfortable and there is cable TV and a good wi-fi router with strong signal throughout the house and on the giant patio. The patio is great for just kicking back and watching the neighbor's cows and the vari-colored birds. It also has a grill for charcoal (available mesquite, cheap and good).
The road to the house is not paved or well graded but the neighbor said the town will fix it in 2018, with streetlights. If you just take it slow, it is no problem and it keeps the amateurs out.
In summary, it is a relaxing, cool and scenic house to use as a base to explore central Michoacan and experience the rich history of the area. The ruins of the prehispanic Tarascan central governing site overlook the church complex in Tzintzuntzan founded by Bishop Vasco Quiroga, where the olive trees are over 450 years old, oldest in the Americas.

This couple had been traveling through Mexico and enjoying the many sights this wonderful country has to offer. The writer has a gift with words and describes Eclipse house very well.
