Avis Allure on Ocean Motel

Hello Caroline,Thank you for acknowledging the loveliness of our staff and the comfort of your room. We are family owned and operated business supported by some wonderful staff who also treat, appreciate and maintain the property as if it were their own.We note you stayed for a one night stay on a Saturday on a weekend where usually two nights are required….. whilst we have eleven rooms available, if one becomes available for just the one night, it is often a ground floor room. We also hope that you appreciate the fact that car was able to park undercover, which you chose to park away from your room, which did unfortunately mean someone else had to use the car space right in front of your room, and we believe this is where your disgruntlement has come from.In our defense:- we have one car space on-site for every room, they are not allocated, but this is a far cry from city motels where your car may be valet parked at a cost several blocks away.- we have only 3 rooms with balconies, and then 2 on the ground floor with outdoor seating. NO other rooms have outdoor seating, so many would see your room as a plus!- the proximity to the beach, 2 cafes & the park, are for many, considered a bonus - we are walkable to so much!- we are a Motel, privacy screens would mean we would limit carparking availability and would not be approved by the authorities - they would also limit visibility for car movements (impacting safety), and would limit natural light to the rooms….. if we were a house, or free-standing property, your suggestion would perhaps be a positive.- had you contacted us prior to your arrival requesting a specific room location, we would have done everything we could to meet your expectations.- other properties on our street are equidistant from the park, street parking etc…. so possibly it wouldn't matter which property you select… unless you choose to stay further away from the beachfront.Should you choose to return…. please call us before arrival to discuss the location and position of your room so that we may manage your expectations.Regards,Belinda
