The beach was amazing and the hotel, rooms, and pools were very clean. The staff was also very friendly. Overall, Araliya Beach Resort & Spa was amazing.

Massive disappointment - stay elsewhere
Publié le 14 avr. 2024 sur HotelsNot 5 star. If you want an okay 4* then you might not be disappointed. We stayed for 5 nights and opted for breakfast only. The worst part was the attitude of the staff throughout the stay- Very rude, unfriendly and unhelpful, especially the travel expert who just sat on his phone and unless you were going to the airport just suggested you walked everywhere… he quoted 100US dollars for the journey to the airport which was obscene. We literally walked to BSL taxis (who we would thoroughly recommend) at the end of the drive and arranged a driver to take us to the airport for less than half the price.
The room was a good size and well cleaned by housekeeping who seemed to be the only staff who cared about their job. It was very noisy every morning so if you are hoping for a lie in do not stay here! Breakfast although included in price was chaotic and unpleasant as an experience and after trying it twice we just went else where and would advise to avoid. Overall we would thoroughly recommend Unawatuna as a place to visit but would strongly advise to stay elsewhere as this hotel was such a disappointment! We didn’t eat in the hotel for lunch or dinner as we were just desperate to escape each day and go somewhere else but heard from multiple other guests that the all inclusive options were awful similar to our experience of the breakfast.

This was a beautiful resort - the rooms were spacious, impeccably clean and all the staff were friendly and hospitable. The breakfast buffet is yummy and so is the dinner buffet. I liked that there was a pool on the property but also the beach was easily accessible.
There was only one concern that came up - the first night I arrived to check in, all the rooms were full and I was unable to get my room on a higher floor as expected. Staff tried their best to be very accommodating and moved me as soon as possible, especially Kalum at the front desk - thank you for helping to sort this out and ensure I had a great stay in Unawatuna.

Exceptional
Publié le 11 avr. 2023 sur HotelsWe cannot rate the hotel and the staff highly enough. The front of house staff, the waiting staff the pool boys, the bar staff were all exceptional. They are all very friendly and extremely helpful.They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome, they can't do enough for you during your stay. We had an issue when we were there and Mr Adikari and Mr Rizan and their team bent over backwards to assist us. We really can't thank them and praise them enough for their efforts. Thank you. We will be back.
