PROS: We had an amazing 4-days stay at Elysium. This Boutique Hotel is a true gem worth every 5-stars, nested a short-tuk-tuk ride from Unawatuna or Galle.
The hotel is on a quiet beautiful beach. There are rocks, so you cannot swim directly in from the hotel, but you have a small and beautiful cove 100m on the right. And you can enjoy the view of fishermen on their stilts from the hotel terrace at sunrise and sunset! Spot is perfect for both.
The rooms are very large and comfortable, decorated with a lot of style. Beds are 5 stars.
The food was the best we had during our entire stay in Sri Lanka, we had amazing dinners, and probably our best breakfast ever in travel (no buffet, dishes are cooked on-demand). A huge congrats to the chef!!!
The owner Catherine and her staff were extremely careful to our comfort and needs.
And we had an amazing NYE dinner and celebration.
We highly recommend it and hope to be able to visit again in the future!
CONS: nothing...

Letdown
Publié le 25 févr. 2024 sur HotelsHad high expectations after reading the other reviews and spending almost $1K for two nights here but was disappointed overall. The beach access was nice and the highlight of our stay. Staff was a bit slow and not very helpful and food was ridiculously expensive and nothing special. There are other cheaper options nearby which are worth a look.

Dear Gelana,We are extremely disappointed to read your review and it is quite an extreme outlier compared to all the other reviews we have had so far this Season and since inception. Our staff and and our food in particular are what guests love most. You were staying in our family suite with 3 children I believe. We will do an investigation on your stay with us. Please write to me at info@elysiumsrilanka.com so that I can investigate this further with you. Regards,Catherine

Absolutely amazing
Publié le 19 oct. 2018 sur ExpediaWe spent 6 nights at the Elysium and were more than happy with this choice. The premises are stylish, spacious and perfectly located on a beach. We arrived on a rainy Saturday and were treated to a complimentary lunch - that set the tone for the rest of the week. Staff was brilliant -especially the chef. They even granted us a late check out at 5.00 pm - free of charge. Many thanks dear Elysium-team for your great work.

Excellent Boutique Hotel
Publié le 6 août 2018 sur HotelsBeautiful boutique hotel on the coast twenty five minutes outside of Galle. Lovely relaxing setting with great views. The service and food were both excellent and the standard of the accommodation very good. Would highly recommend Elysium.

Private, cozy hotel with beautiful garden area

Pour : We liked the privacy and garden area. The privacy might have been different if we weren't the only people staying there.
Contre : Staff wasn't able to provide breakfast until 7:30, kids are up at 6. Dinner was tasty but left us hungry (tiger prawns were actually shrimp).
Emplacement : Has some beach in front which is unusual for this area. Nice sandy spit to play on. About 20 minutes from Fort Galle.
We had one night here and had the place all to ourselves. Our room was excellent with a large king bed and two sets of bunk beds built into the walls. There was also a nice window seat with lots of pillows. There were two bathrooms with showers and two toilets. Also there was an outdoor shower for rinsing off the sand. The room was stocked with water bottles. The only complaint about the room was the proximity to the busy/noisy road and train tracks. The walled yard was right off a busy road and there were trains going as well as cars honking early in the morning.
