The good, the bad and the ugly

The bad: very poorly stocked kitchen. 1 steak knife, 1 VERY crappy big knife, 1 tall glass for drinks, 1 dish towel, no dish cloths.
The ugly: Owner blatently lied to us. All along check in time was 3, contacted at 2:30 to see if we could get in. Were told cleaners were in there and we couldnt get in until 4. There were no cleaners there. Owner showed up at 3:04 with a car full of friends/family and did the "cleaning" from 3 - 4. We had planned ferries and flights around getting in at 3. They did let us put food in the fridge, but then we had to leave while they did whatever it was they did. Bathroom floors are DISGUSTING, shower walls also DISGUSTING. Huge gross hairs all over the floor and walls. House is a rental and it shows. Needs a GOOD cleaning and many upgrades.

Family stay
Publié le 10 oct. 2022 sur HomeAwayWe stayed here for our sons wedding at Newlands Golf & Country club. Location was great.. just an easy couple of minute drive to the venue. Just minutes away from many amenities. Easy access to whatever you may have needed. My only suggestion would be an alarm clock in the bedrooms.

Good location, lacking in a few ways.
Publié le 8 août 2022 sur HomeAwayUpon arrival I had difficulty entering the property as there was no instructions to access the keypad on the door. I then had to message the host in order to obtain the wifi information, I would have liked if there was a checkin book, pamphlet or message that contained all of this. After my initial tour of the property I discovered there was a tennant that wasn't listed and the masted bathroom shower had mildewed grout and smelled rather musky. Having already arrived and settled in I messaged the host about the tennant and was assured it wouldn't be an issue, that wasn't really the response I had hoped for as I was hoping my concerns would be addressed in some manner as opposed to being brushed off. The window covers in the master bedroom were insufficient to allow sleep past sunrise and I could hear every move the tennant made quite clearly which woke my up two of the mornings. I had issue with the fence separating the tennant for the rental portion of the back yard, after bringing that to the attention of the host after checking out I am assured the fence has been improved. I also see the tenant is now listed which is good and I am told the tile is being replaced. I also discovered a distinct lack of kitchen ware and ended up buying some to use just so I could cook, however the host tells me they have now purchased kitchen ware for the unit. These are all good things but the host has done nothing to compensate me for the issues I experienced and I find that to be quite upsetting as I paid quite a lot of money to stay in the house. The location is great and it is a nice neighborhood, but the lack of concern for the satisfaction of a paying customer would lead me to recommend people stay elsewhere. If the host in any way attempts to make things right I will be sure to ammend my review but as of this moment I would recommend people stay elsewhere, its cheaper and you will have a better experience.

Hello John, at first you stated that you had a pleasant stay and we’re pleased with the place. When I asked for a public review reflecting this as I am new to vrbo you had requested “compensation” in order to write a positive public review. Also I have this house listed on AIRBNB and all reviews have been positive and do not align with the comments you have made. I am here for my guests at all times and all concerns are immediately dealt with right away as I live close by!
