Renovated, spacious and bright North Shore garden oasis

In the heart of Central Lonsdale, in the city of North Vancouver, this 1910 “Craftsman-era” heritage home is surrounded by 100+ year old cedar and fir trees and beautiful perennial flower beds. A corner lot, on the top of the 19th street hill, with a view of Lions Gate bridge, Burrard Inlet, and Lighthouse Park, this garden oasis is secluded, yet located within easy access to the downtown, the North Shore Mountains, and even Whistler Village. Simply the perfect base to explore and enjoy Vancouver for the first time or while visiting family and friends!
Our home offers a renovated, fully furnished 700 square foot one bedroom self-contained basement suite. Please note if you are taller than 5’10 you may have to slightly duck! Guests are treated to a private entrance accessed via natural stone steps on the North side of the house, just off the gardens. The steps could be somewhat challenging for anyone with significant mobility issues. Motion detector lighting illuminates the path. Parking is available at the front of the house or above the back driveway. You are welcome to use the table/chairs ourside the suite door, but please no smoking/vaping in the suite or anywhere on the property.
Bright and spacious, the floor to ceiling windows in the kitchen area offer peekaboo views of the North Shore. The suite boasts an open plan, carpeting and slate tiles throughout, and all the necessary amenities including in suite laundry. High speed internet access via WIFI, separate controls to base board and forced air heating ensures you can relax and enjoy your home away from home.
We are located close to a number of must see Vancouver sites. Just above the driveway you are immediately at the new North Shore Green Necklace walking path leading into Greenwood Park. For those skiing and biking enthusiasts, or if you just want to take in some hiking, bear watching or spectacular views, there is easy driving access to Grouse Mountain (11 minutes), Mount Seymour (20 minutes), Cypress Bowl (30 minutes), and Whistler Mountain (75 minutes). Other popular destinations like Capilano Suspension Bridge (7 minutes), Stanley Park (10 minutes), Park Royal Shopping Mall (8 minutes) and the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal (16 minutes), are only a short drive away. Or take a leisurely walk or convenient bus ride down Lonsdale and enjoy Lonsdale Quay, and the shops, restaurants, waterpark or ice rink (depending on the season) at the Shipyards. At the base of Lonsdale, take the 12 minute Seabus ride across the water to enjoy downtown Vancouver. Be sure to have you camera ready as you take in spectacular views of the city, mountains, and Burrard Inlet while riding this passenger only ferry.
And if need be, Lions Gate Hospital is a 1 minute car ride, or 13 minute walk away.

Perfect Getaway - Highly Recommend!
We had an amazing time during our recent stay at this property! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that a lot of care and attention went into making this home both comfortable and welcoming. The space was exactly as described—clean, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated, with everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The location was perfect for exploring the area, with plenty of local attractions nearby, yet it offered the peace and quiet we were hoping for. The hosts were also fantastic—very responsive and attentive to any questions we had, ensuring our stay was seamless. We truly felt at home and could easily see ourselves returning for another stay in the future. Overall, this was a perfect getaway for both of us, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, hassle-free vacation spot. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

The place was very nice! VRBO commercials are a bit misleading as the hosts were onsite. That being said. We never saw or heard anyone so it was as though they weren't there. Perfect in every way
This place is perfect. No other way to describe it! Frances has made a cozy, comfortable haven for visitors to Vancouver. The pictures are exactly like the property, and what a beautiful property it is! Green, lush and flowering everywhere you look. Even on a rainy day it is lovely! The apartment is spacious, the furniture is so comfortable, the decor is really special and Frances has thought of every detail her guests might need, from tape and scissors on the desk, to a vegetable peeler and even a picnic cooler with plates, cups and utensils. Frances is so considerate, she even has pillow options in the closet should you not like the ones on the comfy queen bed! This was an ideal spot for us to relax and to use as a jumping off point for our trip to Vancouver. Frances was very responsive, welcoming and gracious! I highly recommend this terrific place and sincerely hope to be back there sometime in the future!

Perfect Garden Retreat in a Prime Location
My sister and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful home, which exceeded my expectations. The garden setting is absolutely stunning, providing a serene and peaceful environment that made our stay incredibly relaxing. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable, we felt right at home. The location of the property is also a major plus. It's conveniently close to various sights and some of the best dining options in the area, which made exploring and dining out extremely convenient. Overall, this home provided the perfect retreat and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and beautiful place to stay. Ideal Vancouver getaway
My wife and I were visiting Vancouver for a few days and didn't want to stay at a downtown highrise hotel. This rental was perfect for us. Located in North Vancouver, it is an easy drive to numerous hiking trails and outdoor activities yet with easy access to downtown Vancouver via public transit (a short walk to a bus, to the Seabus service to Vancouver) or by car. The unit itself is very well equipped with everything you need if you choose to prepare your own meals. And it is clean, quiet and private. Frances and Terence are very gracious hosts and are readily available to answer any questions. We highly recommend this property and would stay here again.

Loved this suite. Was absolutely beautiful - the most beautiful and clean suite I have stayed in! It had everything I could have needed and then some! The bed was DIVINE. The Best VRBO Stay I’ve Experienced!
We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed every minute of being at this beautiful property! Frances and Terrence were so welcoming and friendly, great communication but also very respectful of our privacy-striking a perfect balance. The pictures do not do this accommodation justice, it’s cozy, spacious, beautifully decorated, and fully stocked with everything you could ever need for your stay. It felt like a real home away from home! Also can’t forget to mention the gorgeous garden and perfect North Van location. We loved our stay so much and are looking forward to returning. A five star experience all around!!!
OMG! The place was not only beautiful, but should be the industry standard for cleanliness and appearance for VRBO’s and hotels. Everything was beyond expectation, secluded away in a restorative tree surrounded environment. It is only walking distance from the North Vancouver area (although it is at the top of a very tall hill — which is absolutely a part of the charm!). Make sure to watch the sunset from the quaint patio area and if you are lucky, the moonset. It is a story book environment if you wish to restore your soul, or are inspired to do some contemplative work. The homeowners are very respectful of space and hospitality. Make sure to bring them a gift, because the place you’re staying is their gift to you.

Fantastic location
As a solo woman traveler, I felt safe in the house and neighborhood. Frances greeted me when I checked in and was very friendly and helpful. The location is close to transit and was easy to get around the city. Everything was comfortable and made me feel relaxed at the end of the day.

The hostess was awesome. The place was immaculate would stay here again. She described the steps to the place very carefully in her posting, but if you are unsteady at your feet, it could be difficult. Love to view the gardens were awesome you could not ask for more.

Home away from home
Everything about this property exceeded expectations. Frances and Terence were wonderful; welcoming, kind, and very willing to share their local knowledge. The grounds were beautiful, the pictures do not convey just how lovely the gardens on their property are. The accommodation itself suited our needs to a tee. The furnishings were new and well maintained, the bed very comfortable, and the little extras (umbrellas, extra beach towels etc.) were a pleasant surprise. Restaurants, bakeries, Starbucks etc. were a 10 minute walk and the bus stop providing easy access to the SeaBus and downtown Vancouver, was a short walk away. A wonderful stay!!!! This unit has been recently renovated. We had a very nice stay there. It was sparkling clean, well appointed and nicely decorated. The full kitchen has new appliances, and the layout is very convenient. The living area has a nice work table, good Wifi and a comfortable sofa and chair. The bed was comfy with high quality linens. The beautiful secluded garden is peaceful—a lovely place to relax.. The location in West Vancouver is convenient to many good restaurants. The hosts are very friendly and helpful with directions, restaurant recommendations, etc. Clearly these hosts want to provide the best possible experience for travelers . This would be a 5 star review except for a couple of concerns that we have detailed to the hosts. The unit is a basement apartment and has a walkway down to the unit made of irregular, natural stones with no railing. That walkway is difficult to negotiate for anyone who has arthritic knees, bad ankles, balance issues or other mobility problems. The stones would be more difficult in rain, ice or snow. Tall folks need to be careful of the beam separating the kitchen and the living area. The bottom of the beam is less than 6 feet high and is painted the same color as the ceiling and walls, which makes it easy to overlook.
