Wonderful stay at Barclay apartment

We love vancouver and this place is close to everything. You do not need a car. The only negative comment is the air conditioning. It was fine since it was not too hot (about 20 degres), but I imagine with 35 to 30 degres...it surely gets too hot. I would also recommend a better kitchen trash bin, this one has no lid... the rest was just perfect!! Thsnks to john fir his hospitality. Isabelle from Québec

Thank you Isabelle for your comments and feedback. Luckily we do not have temperatures in Vancouver that hit 30 - 35 degrees as you are correct, a larger a/c would definitely be required. With 25 - 27 degree max temps the a/c keeps are guests nice and cool. Noted on the trash bin, we will pick up a new one with a lid today.
John and I are so pleased that you enjoyed your time with us. We both agree, this is the perfect location for a visit to Vancouver. We look forward to welcoming you back for a visit.

Perfect location in Vancouver
Publié le 2 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis is our second stay at Sheldon and John’s place, and we enjoyed it just as much as last time. John and Sheldon are wonderful hosts, friendly and helpful. The flat is just right for two people, with a great view over English Bay from the balcony. Everything is clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for walking, cycling, eating, and getting around by public transit, and the parking place comes in handy when we rent a car.
We hope to come back again in 2025!

Great location
Publié le 22 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayView from the deck (14th floor) was great. Grocery and liquor store 3 blocks away. Very easy to get to from airport - train and then #6 bus. Nice having a washer and dryer for emergencies. Very quiet building even though a big street nearby (Canadians don't honk like Americans!) Stanley Park is a couple of blocks away and a great place to get outside (I'm not a shopper)
The only problem was/is the outlet for the toaster and coffee maker - it's totally disconnected from the wall (neither screw is holding). Should be fixed because it's a safety hazard. Could also provide a bucket for compostable garbage - there's a bin for it that we didn't know about till we emptied the garbage. Otherwise, a terrific place to stay.

Thank you for your comments. If there is an issue with an electrical outlet it is always a good idea to let the host know immediately so that a repair can be made. You checked in on the same day someone checked out, we wanted to have the suite cleaned and ready for you so you could check in early as requested and we only know of a problem if we are informed. There was a compost / organics bin with a stack of biodegradable bags under the sink. We are very conscious of ensuring that we are recycling all bottles,cans, paper and organics and that is why we ensure that the suite is well stocked with a organics bin and bags.

We loved the location close to the beach promenade and shops-also an easy walk to downtown, bike tours and rentals. Check-in was breezy, and the apt was tastefully decorated, with plenty of towels! Comfy beds. We appreciated Sheldon’s thoughtful communication. Great place!

The Sky Life!

Fully equipped kitchen stocked with a few necessities (thanks, John, for the coffee!), lovely living space with amazing views of the Burrard Inlet and English Bay Beach, and a comfy bed with another picture window view of the treetops of Stanley Park. The flat's terrific location made it easy for us to walk everywhere and take the bus to the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge. A wonderful stay, thanks so much!
