Rustic farmhouse close to town
Publié le 6 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayIt’s an old farmhouse so there is certainly some charm if you are into that. Could use some updates. Fridge looked old but not in a good way. Toaster didn’t work and the oven fan just vented into a cupboard above it. We did love sitting on the porch and how close we were to town. And the visit from the 3-legged dog.

The vent fan is a recirculating fan that has a filter - it doesn't vent cooking grease/etc. in to the cupboard! The fridge is CLEAN and FUNCTIONS perfectly. The photos show the house in every detail, so if you don't like what you see, we have lots of other places you can stay that are upscale (and thus more expensive).

Island Farmhouse Patch of Peace
Publié le 19 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThe gardens, willow tree and classic white farmhouse gave us sych a peaceful feeling. Although the road is busy the house is quiet and relaxing. We had everything we needed! Loved dinner in town at the Hardware Store Restaurant..beautiful wood features and great food. The town grocery store was the best store we have ever shopped in! Great produce!

Fun, fair, farm stay

Bike Trip
Publié le 25 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe are 6 friends on a bike trip and stayed for 1 night. The house is cute, but management is poor. Front door had not been programed, bedrooms were locked, lack of towels. The house is advertised as having 2 bathrooms, and a hot tub, but there is only 1 bathroom and no hot tub. Vashon is a sweet town but not many places to stay.

I think she might've missed something in the listing? It has a bathtub, but not a hot tub! The doors are open for extra bedrooms when there are additional guests, and the same with the second bathroom. Be sure to register for the correct number of guest so everything is open for your group. And please read the instructions which explain how the door codes work.

Family Christmas Dinner
Publié le 30 déc. 2023 sur HomeAwayLisa’s property had a big dining room table which was perfect. Our kids live on the island but in studios. We had to celebrate a day later. Both grandchildren were able to come in the morning, have our Christmas morning and drive home. Only thing to be aware of is the bathrooms are all downsrairs

Nice short stay
Publié le 11 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe house was isolated and a little small for 2 couples, but very comfortable. We had to call the owner to get the code to unlock the second bedroom. No functioning coffee pot we could figure out so we went out for breakfast. Great garden with birds and a cat.

If you can't figure out a coffee pot or something, like that, please do call! There is a drip coffee maker, a French press, and a countertop, espresso maker. They are under the counter next to the stove. The house has a table that seats nine, so I'm not sure about the comment about it being small? Anyway, take a look at the pictures before you book to avoid surprise, and please do ask questions if there's some thing you need during your stay!

Know before you go
Publié le 3 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayMy Mom and I stayed one night for a nearby wedding. We had no problem finding the home or getting inside. However as soon as we entered I was as struck by the smell. It wasn’t the general “empty house” smell, nor was it the typical smell of an old house. Upstairs the smell was worse and to me, it smelled like cat pee and plug-in air fresheners. The 2nd floor has carpet so I’m guessing that’s why the smell was stronger. I can be sensitive to smells, but my mom isn’t and she was bothered too. For me, it was so bad i tried to sleep with my shirt over my nose. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again.
