Wonderful Gite
Posted Jun. 17, 2024 on HomeAwayWe all thoroughly enjoyed this gite for 1 week. It is spacious, clean and had everything we needed. We loved the barn with table tennis and table football. Excellent well kept gardens and pool (cold!!). A car is a must as remote. Lovely places to visit in the area. Thank you to great hosts Marie Claude and Jean.

A lovely peaceful property, surrounded by beautiful countryside and with a magnificent pool!
Posted Aug. 18, 2023 on HomeAwayIt is a beautifully converted old property, with so much characters, but really good modernisations too.
The bathrooms are excellent and modern - the two main living rooms have so much charm.
The gardens are beautifully kept, the pool is the best I have seen in a gite, and the floodlit boules arena is a delight!
Thank you so much to the owners whose communication was excellent, and who where most accommodating and kind with meeting us on arrival, pool cleaning visits and on departure.
Thoroughly recommended for a relaxing family holiday!

Our favourite ever gite!

A beautiful gite, that has been renovated to a high standard, but retaining with lots of character. The photos do not do the property justice, it is delightful!
The views are beautiful, the setting idyllic and peaceful. While we weren't blessed with Charente's sunniest of weeks, the five children in our group were never bored at the property or in the region of Sud Charente: swimming pool, hide & seek (cache-cache as we learnt), ping pong, petanque, even a train set! Away from the house we loved the market at Villebois-Lavallete, a day out at Aubeterre sur Dronne and a trip to a local Pineaud producer.
I would strongly recommend this house and the area to any families looking for a relaxing break away from home.

A Return Visit
Posted Jul. 15, 2023 on HomeAwayWe are a family of 7 (5 adults and 2 children) who stayed her in 2019 and wanted to return in 2020 but Covid ruined our plans. We have recently enjoyed our 2nd visit which was just as wonderful as our first. This is a fantastic property with an amazing outlook over extensive fields. Marie-Claude and Jean have created a delightful atmosphere with every modern facility you could wish for. The private pool, not overlooked, was a great favourite with the children and the extensive grounds include a pétanque pitch & swing ball & volleyball facilities. In the barn is table tennis and table football so all ages and abilities are catered for. We fully intend returning next year and have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone wishing to visit this beautiful area. You won’t be disappointed!!

At last!
Posted Jul. 13, 2022 on HomeAwayAfter honouring our original booking for 2020 we eventually arrived at the property and we’re not disappointed. A downstairs suite for my wife (recent broken leg) and myself was ideal and bedrooms upstairs for our sons.
We loved eating out outside in the rear courtyard, spending our days by the pool and evenings playing Pétanque.
We cannot fault the property and both Marie-Claude and Jean were excellent hosts; we will return!

Superb tranquil stay
Posted Sep. 21, 2021 on HomeAwayWe had an absolutely amazing time at the property with friends and our two dogs. Everything was set up superbly well, and the Gite and it's surroundings could not have been better. A trully special place that we will no doubt visit again.

Delightful peaceful holiday with lovely hosts
Posted Sep. 3, 2020 on HomeAwayBetter than expected, fully enclosed gardens gave us peace of mind with an excitable Welsh Springer Spaniel. We could not have asked for more and Marie-Claude & Jean were most helpful and friendly hosts especially given the covid19 restrictions. Will return if not next year then certainly in 2021 for a restful holiday in an oasis of peace.

Agréable séjour dans une très jolie maison
Posted Aug. 18, 2020 on HomeAwayNous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette très jolie maison, bien aménagée et très bien équipée. La piscine, entourée de champs, est agréable et bien conçue pour les enfants (sécurisée et peu profonde au niveau des marches). Nombreux jeux à disposition (ping-pong, babyfoot, Pétanque, molky...). La literie est de qualité. Les propriétaires sont à l’écoute et la communication très facile. Merci à eux !

Parfait!
Posted Aug. 27, 2019 on HomeAwayWe are a famiy of 4 adults, 2 young children and 4 dogs and this property and its environs was perfect for our needs. All the amenties far-outweighed our expectations - games for the children, petanque court, superb swimming pool, spacious beautifully-furnished rooms, extensive private gardens and amazing views across sunflower fields. It was also a perfect holiday for the dogs who had a free run in the completely-fenced grounds . Marie-Claude and Jean are delightful hosts who are very informative about the local area, made us feel very welcome and also kindly respected our privacy We were completely enthralled by the whole experience and wished we'd booked for much longer than a week! A return in 2020 is already planned!
