Racist experience at check-in

Experience of racism. Completely unacceptable behavior by the woman at check-in. Hostility and attempt to say that we didn’t have a reservation and were not going to stay here.

Dear Sarah,I am really surprised to read your unbelievable feedback, by far too distant from what reality is!I would like first to anticipate that nobody is racist here, expecially because the maid you are talking about is not the receptionist (she is an HOUSEKEEPER, we do not have any reception being this a "self catering apartment") and she is, also, not italian. Funny story, she does not speak any english nor italian, and this is a good starting point to begin the story. We expected YOUR GUEST (yes, because you made the reservation for somebody else cheating the phone number we were in touch was the one of the guest while we were relating, instead, to you) to be by us between 2-2.30 pm, while YOUR GUEST arrived at 10 am insisting to check in and to leave her bag. I was contacted by another phone number (which is the right phone number, the one of the guest!!!!) asking me to leave the bag (we have no luggage storage), so to avoid complication I ordered our maid to give her the ley and take care of her luggage, giving to your guest all the infos to self check in later. I met your guest during her stay, everything was smooth and fine, nobody talked about racism or strange facts, got several msg from her thanking me for all, and now I read this feedback plus the unsensed explanations you are typing via sms after my questions for clarifications. This is not acceptable, I must feel abused from you as our team has been accused to be guilty for something we never did, and your words are really severe words on which we cannot pass over.

The property was nicely furnished and the host communicated well for check in and our needs on and after arrival. However, the stay was RUINED by the presence of numerous bugs and insects. I must have killed at least 20 while spending 4 nights there. A few mosquitos here and there is to be expected in May in Venice, but we had a bunch of small insects pop out from the walls and floorboards. On our second night I killed an insect (not sure what) that was two inches long. It was scurrying around the kitchen floor. After that night we enjoyed the day in Venice but dreaded coming back to the apartment for fear of finding another such creature greeting us when we got back in the evening. I definitely will not be returning in the future.

Dear Sasha,we are really sorry for your bad words but as you know mosquitos and or any bug coming into the apartment from the garden below do not depend on us. We consider your feedback very unfair, and you not so polite while here, as you never replied to us when we wrote you there is no laundry here. We won't suffer not to meet you in the future, you do not deserve to be our guest.

The house has good conditions and is well located in the center of Venezia. However, there are two very unfortunate points. On the one hand, the house not clean, with dust in many places. Moreover, we were asked a different amount of money for the touristic tax from the one indicated in the email from Hotels.com A really unfortunate situation.

Hello Rafael,it's funny that you travel with the microscope to put pictures or small corners of the big apartment you were in :) We are happy that you enjoyed the free late check in without paying the MENTIONED 50 fee, but you complained for the city tax which is well written on our website and badly reported here despite we are trying to fix it since months and decided in the end to leave what you thought it was right for you, so whay complaining about it?You'd better to learn not to be so rude for your future travels.
