Perfectly Secluded Romantic Getaway
Publié le 31 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was everything we wanted and more in a honeymoon. The cabin was cozy, clean, and romantic. We wanted somewhere secluded with limited cell service (the WiFi was excellent but we switched our phones off). We were able to enjoy ourselves and our time with limited distractions. We can’t wait to return!

Publié le 24 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis is a great little cabin and we enjoyed our stay. Richard was a great host. Just be prepared to build your own fire to keep warm as there is no central heat.

I do fire starting house calls. There's plenty of dry wood in the woodshed and between the cookstove and parlor stove the cabin can be warmed to 80-deg above ambient. True, going "green" sometimes requires extra steps but you are then energy independent.

Autumn in the woods

He is very knowledgeable about Vermont life
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage and the campfires we had at night.
I couldn’t have found a better place to stay to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.

Family vacation
Publié le 21 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe felt welcomed from the minute we arrived. Richard is an incredible host and his love of the property comes across. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable for our week long stay. Even though the recent rain had washed out part of the driveway, Richard made sure to help us carry our things up the short walk to the house and he was hard at work fixing the washout. There is plenty to do in the area but even if it’s a little grey and rainy like it was for us, the wood stove keeps the camp nice and cozy and was perfect for staying inside reading and playing board games. We could easily see ourselves going again in the future!

Relaxing Week

We always find something new every time. There’s never time to get bored here. Lots of fun family time: campfires, lovely dinners and game nights. I already have a running list of places to visit, trails to hike and things to do right at the house for our next trip!

I keep looking forward to your visits. There's always a surprise around each corner and behind each big tree. Yesterday a big porcupine startled a doe and her fawn ---- I think they were both harvesting blackberries.

Perfect Home Base for our VT vacations!
Publié le 6 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was our second visit to this beautiful property, and we had another fantastic experience. Richard takes such great care of the house and surrounding property.
The house has everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. I love the vintage convection toaster oven—it doesn’t heat up the whole house, and cooks food so quickly! They don’t make quality appliances like that anymore.
The property has great hiking trails, is beautifully landscaped and the river is a refreshing spot to enjoy on a hot day.
There is also a lot to do in the area, if you do decide to leave the property for the day. More places to hike, waterfalls, antique shops and sugar houses are all relatively close by.

Great stay
Publié le 23 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayIt was a cute little cabin tucked . We stayed while it was 90+ degrees for a few days in a row and Richard made sure to keep us in the loop to keep the cabin cool. And it surprisingly stayed at a good temperature. The kids had a good time exploring the property.
