Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review, which stands alone in its negativity about our lodge. We have carefully considered your comments, and would like to respond accordingly for the benefit of fellow readers. How unfortunate that you chose to focus on the negatives, without revealing the whole truth behind your comments. Firstly, you booked an inappropriate room for two travel companions, and we discussed this with your brother the next day. Unfortunately we were fully booked during your stay, otherwise we would have happily moved you to another room, or refunded you so that you could have chosen a hotel better suited to your expectations. The "family room" is designed for families, with a king bed downstairs for parents, and 3 single beds upstairs for children. We don't allow children under 8 upstairs in the loft area because of the steep spiral staircase. We do not recommend adults over 18 to sleep upstairs. We have twin rooms and solo traveler rooms, both of which would have been more appropriate for your needs and comfort if they had been available. In your review you do not reveal that you had very specific dietary requirements which narrowed down your choices in our restaurant. You wrongly accused us of poisoning you which, after further probing, you admitted that it may have been from somewhere else. Our chefs have been well trained in providing gluten free meals for our guests. It is absolutely not true that we only have one option for lunch or dinner. We have a set 3 course dinner menu which changes every day of the week, with vegetarian and vegan options available on request, plus our chefs are able to accommodate any special dietary requests. We have 4 different light meal choices for lunch, as most of our guests are out adventuring during the day, and having an extensive lunch menu does not make economic sense for a lodge as small as ours. It is interesting to note that your brother enjoyed the company of our family in our restaurant on the first evening, where he chatted with us while eating a large portion of chicken wings (which he said were delicious) and also had a complimentary dessert as well as a cinnamon roll on the house. Before retiring for the night, he thanked us all for our warm hospitality. Perhaps if you had given us a chance during your 4 night stay, the outcome would have been more positive for you. We wish you only the best.
