Rustic not Ritzy
Publié le 17 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayOur stay here was good, we rented the two bedroom suite down stairs. We had our dog with us and he was very relaxed and lived the yard. There is a TV but no TV remote, so we played cards in the evenings. The neighborhood is ok, but if you want a more ritzy vacation, this isn’t the spot for you. The yard is a little over grown but the suite itself was very clean. The hostess was kind and easy to visit with. There was a bit of clutter in the yard, but the hostess is a retirement aged single woman and a yard like that is a lot of work. So it is what it is. If you do end up staying here, Buckys tap house up the road has amazing food at a great price, we ate at some really fancy places and Buckys was one of our best meals, I highly recommend it!

Good location but…

The uncomfortable mattress was on a bed that was eight feet away from a noisy furnace which, due to the cold weather, cycled on and off all night. Access to the rooms required a walk down a slippery sidewalk then over a muddy lawn to the door. There was no cable or means of connecting our devices to the TV. Worst of all… dirty pots and pans and no toilet paper!… really???

Amazing location
Publié le 26 oct. 2020 sur HomeAwayYou cannot sleep on the main bedroom bed - insist on a new mattress. Both living room couches are filthy, bring blankets to cover them. Ask that the floor be mopped. All furniture is dated. Besides that, the location is fabulous, the suite is roomy, the kitchen well stocked. The host is friendly and helpful. I would rent again if couches and main bed are replaced.

Totally Unimpressed
Publié le 7 sept. 2020 sur HomeAwayIt would really help if your company used a professionally designed rating system, not consumer reviews like this, then hopefully we would have has some idea that we were renting a place that was incredibly dirty and neglected. We did not stay. We took one look at the suite and left, but returned the next day to at least go for the most expensive swim in our lives. We did not say anything to the owner. We were too appalled to know what to say. We’re totally impressed with the rental and with VRBO.

Publié le 24 juill. 2019 sur HomeAwayI loved this place. I stayed an extra night because I didn't want to leave! It's quiet and has a beautiful lake side view, a lovely trail. The unit was immaculate, lovely and comfortable. It has a well outfitted kitchen. Email communications were sometimes unreliable.

We didn't swim because of weather, but just to sit, and watch was awesome. Yes We would stay here again. I recommend this place. I give it Excellent rating

We couldn't figure out how to work the t.v. but everything else was fine.

Publié le 18 août 2017 sur HomeAwayWe booked this place really not knowing what to expect. Did not realize this was a beautiful little oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of city life. Amazing that less than two blocks away was a very busy road but you'd never know it. The lake, the rope swing, paddle boats kept our kids very entertained. Joan's, our hostess was wonderful and very accommodating and lovely. Our only negative was that we should have booked it for longer. Definitely recommend especially for families that like swimming and peace and quiet without having to go far.
