Avoid This Hotel - Stay In Kenedy or Elsewhere
THESE ARE OIL & GAS WORKERS AND THEY ARE PEOPLE TOO SPENDING REAL MONEY IN THE LOCAL ECONOMY. THREAT THEM LIKE PEOPLE AND PROVIDE A CLEAN HAVEN FOR THEM TO RELAX AFTER A LONG DAY. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THE CONDITION OF THIS SOMEWHAT NEW(ER) HOTEL. This hotel was a total and surprisingly disappointment in terms of quality and cleanliness and should probably LOSE its flag as a Marriott Bonvoy property. The Deluxe/Premium King that everyone rated as a 10.0 must have been somewhere else. Pictures speak a thousand words and this hotel is certainly an example. We stay at alot of places all over the world, and can see past a lot of things, but cleanliness is a non-negotiable. Dead and live bugs in the room throughout, mildew, a toilet that would NOT flush 100%. We arrived later in the evening and just needed the place for the night. We slept fully clothed and did not use the mildew ridden shower and nor did we use the ice or the breakfast bar. We have never left a Marriott property where when departing nobody said "have a nice day" or "good-bye" while 2 employees where standing at the counter chit-chatting. At sunrise, the outside of the hotel was dirty (glass had what looked like splatter marks on it) and overridden with weeds. Disappointing. Will also be sending a note to Marriott Hotels International. This is not even remotely worthy of a Marriott flag in front of it.
