We had a great stay at Lazy Bear Lodge. Not too big or too small. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable. Marsha and Dave were very accommodating even making us a special breakfast one morning to our preferences. Highly recommended.

Great Cabin in the North Carolina Woods!!
Publié le 12 juin 2024 sur HotelsVery charming 5 room B&B outside of Boone, NC. Very traditional looking cabin but in tip top shape with lots of features and a great view. John and Marsha and their team make you feel comfortable and at home. Internet is great, a pleasant surprise in the woods. Delicious breakfast but the only nit is that I would like some fruit (not just juice) for breakfast. Add some berries, melons, bananas or apples. Will make a huge difference. We would definitely stay here again.

We're happy you enjoyed your stay. We do typically offer fruit frequently but it's not on the menu every day. We alternate our full breakfast offerings between sweet and savory. But thank you for your suggestion!

Couples paradise but not for family Business

Not close to college. Description was not accurate. Gentleman charged me the full price although we didn’t stay 1 night.

It’s unfortunate that you made several mistakes when booking your reservation. You reserved a Bed & Breakfast not a hotel. You reserved a room for one adult not for three or four adults. The room is advertised as a King bed for double occupancy and is not a room that we advertise can have a third or fourth guest. The B&B is described as a mountaintop retreat located in Valle Crucis not in the Town of Boone. However, we do get a lot of business from Appalachian State University (Parents and Alumni) as we are located only 6.6 miles from campus or a short 14-minute drive. This can be easily verified by using Google Maps. Even though you arrived late at 8:00 PM with four adults when we were only expecting one guest, we tried to accommodate you. You stated only three would be staying so we set-up an inflatable twin mattress in the room for you and you said that would be fine. The we noticed the next morning that you had texted us at midnight and decided to stay elsewhere and left the room key at the front desk. Also, you obviously didn’t read our cancellation policy. Unfortunately, the room sat empty on a busy ASU graduation weekend. We wished this situation would not have occurred however your mistakes should not be our financial loss.

Terrific B&B in the Mountains

The room was on the second floor which require a fairly steep flight of stairs. It is central to the area; Blowing Rock, Boone,Banner Elk, etc.

The furnishings and decor were second to none. The attention to every detail, no matter how small, was truly outstanding. The view from the rear deck was awesome. All in all a very relaxing stay.

Excellent B&B. This was our firt time at this B&B, all other quests were repeat customers, we will be also. We look forward to a return visit. Breakfast was excellent. Friendships made at breakfast table are priceless.

That's one of the reasons why we are Innkeepers, we love meeting new guests and also having many of them return. Over the years these returning guests have formed friendships with us and often other guests they have met here.
