This place was very outdated and filthy! The room smelt of strong mildew and mold!

   Three restaurants next door plenty of shopping across the street.   Bed was made and trash taken away everyday

Location is good. TV not working. AC condensation water got inside on floor. Lots of water inside the room.

I'll start with the positive.. the bed was extremely comfortable and clean. Cleaning staff kept fresh towels in the room. Now the bad.. At check-in even though the room was already paid and cleared my account I had to sign a signature pad, which through me a bit but ok I signed.. Then front desk man asked me for a tip which I thought was very unprofessional considering it took him 5 minutes to check me in. Well I guess my tip was not big enough because not more than 15 minutes later my card started pinging fraud charges. My account was shut down immediately. Mind you, when traveling how inconvenient this can be!!! I ended up having to take off work Monday to get my account straight with my bank, luckily - the hackers got nothing! It is without a doubt that it came from him. The other thing that we disliked was the fact that we had to park on the opposite side of the building from our room because parking there is horrible. This is not the safest feeling to have to walk late night to your room that far. As far as the room it's average for Virginia Beach area... but the experience there was not acceptable. I personally will not stay there again.

Hello, my name is Andrew and I have spoken with you before on this via E-mail. First off thank you for the positive words. We do try to take pride in our work and wish all guests have a pleasant stay while they are with us. As for the rest, we have audio and visual recording in our Lobby. As such I have gone through and watched the check-in you had on the night of the 26th/morning of the 27th. While our employee did at the end apparently ask for a tip, something we do not wish any of our employees to ever do, I see nothing else that happened during the exchange that was abnormal. At no point did he do anything other than our standard check in procedure which does involve having the guest sign to approve the transaction, and also involves a mandatory security deposit which generally is a 50 hold by card. As we have already pointed out, that hold is just a temporary pending hold and has already been released. At no point did he copy down your card information, or slide your card in to or past any device other than our point of sale terminal for the security deposit. There is no way he could have your card information unless he memorized your card numbers which I do not think is probable.All that as it is we would normally discipline the employee for his conduct at the end of the check in process. But that employee is already no longer employed with us for other reasons. As far as the parking situation it is nothing we can do anything about as there are more rooms on the Singles side of the building as there are on the Doubles. But there is less parking on the Singles side due to the way the building is laid out. Guests checking in late at night for rooms with either a single Queen sized bed or King sized bed will sometimes not be able to park in front of their rooms because of this. There is enough parking in our property for all guests. But not always directly in front of ones room. The property is safe, well lit, with cameras in every hallway and every parking lot, as well as staff presence at the property 24/7.I am sorry for the difficulty you encountered during your stay with us. The tipping issue is a concern and we will make sure to make all employees aware that such behavior is not tolerated.
