Amazing Hideaway in Volcano
Posted Nov. 27, 2024 on HomeAwayWe had a marvelous stay in Volcano, the house is spacious and wonderfully decorated. We loved the kitchen and back patio + private jungle backyard. We were disappointed the Jacuzzi was not working during our stay but Mindi made up for that (and few misses by the cleaning staff) with the gift of some amazing live orchids from her farm, that arrived after we got back home! Highly recommended!!

Lovely home
Posted Oct. 19, 2024 on HomeAwayThis was a lovely place to stay near Volcano, HI. Great location near the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the town of Volcano which had some good restaurants. It was clean and was stocked with everything we needed for the time we were there.

Great location!
Posted Aug. 26, 2024 on HomeAwayThis location was perfect for exploring the national park and the southern end of the island. You can be looking at the Kilauea caldron in less than 10 min from the house! The house is cozy, and beautifully built. We loved sitting out on the back porch and watching the family of pheasants peck around every morning.
It was a bit musty smelling, and could use a deep clean but the price is pretty low for the location and all the space you get.

Perfect and quiet break
Posted Aug. 25, 2024 on HomeAwayWe really enjoyed our stay at the Volcano House! It had all of the essentials we needed for a great time. It is beautifully crafted, and you can really connect with the nature all around. The Volcanoes National Park is very close by, making it easy to visit. We recommend heading over there at night for stargazing as the park open 24/7.

Just okay
Posted Jul. 12, 2024 on HomeAwayThe good:
Good communication with host pre-arrival
The host’s suggestions of places to go/eat and see were spot on and very helpful.
Directions and entry instructions were spot on, so no issues finding the place and getting in.
Property location and proximity to Volcanoes National Park is excellent - it’s a 7min drive to the park entrance.
Home and setting is pretty nice, beautiful garden, quiet neighborhood and seems quite private.
The not so good:
We arrived around 8pm and as we’d taken a 5:30am (CST) flight out of Houston we’d been awake for 24 hours by the time we arrived. Only to find the property had not been cleaned or made up since the last guests had departed. Beds were not made, there was leftover food in the fridge and there was even $100 on the kitchen counter that was obviously intended as a tip for the cleaner. My messages to the host went unanswered until early the next morning, so we found some bedding (not enough) and made up sleeping arrangements as best as we could and used the swim towels for showering. Everything was clean and made up by the time we got home the next night…well kinda - one of the rooms was still not made up, so I slept on an unmade bed both nights were were there and let my adult daughter share a bed with my wife, so she wouldn’t have to.
Would I stay there again? I doubt it.

Cozy Cabin
Posted Jun. 25, 2024 on HomeAwayIt is a very nice property. Gorgeous cabin with a beautiful view. It is more comfortable for a couple than a family. My family noticed a strong musty smell. We opened the windows immediately. It is very cozy and overall a nice place to stay to take in the beauty of the area.
