All the comforts of home in the rainforest
Posted Nov. 10, 2024 on HomeAwayPele’s Garden is beautifully furnished and decorated, comfortable, quiet and peaceful. The kitchen is fully stocked with assorted pantry items, coffee beans & grinder, coffee maker and french press. Peggy also provided eggs, butter, and half & half. Although the property is less than a mile from hwy 11, it is VERY dark and lushly vegetated. I loved that there were flashlights. There was even a basket of chunky foot warming stocks. The bathroom showers had professional shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers. The towels were luxurious. The beds were sooo comfortable. We stayed 3 nights. We hope to stay at Pele’s Garden again!

Wonderful stay
Posted Oct. 7, 2024 on HomeAwayA beautiful oasis in the middle of Volcano. Peggy made the check-in process a breeze and welcomed us into her cozy home with fresh fruit and flowers. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a lovely house to relax after hiking at VNP.

Peggy is a very considerate host: when we arrived, we found a tray of bananas, papaya, and pineapple + a well-stocked refrigerator. We loved drinking our morning coffee on the wraparound deck & listening to the whistles of tree frogs in the evening. The photos are beautiful, but the in-person experience is even better.

Fantastic location for touring in the Volcanoes NP
Posted Jul. 1, 2024 on HomeAwayHouse is just a dream! Peggy stocked EVERYTHING you could want and then some. Artwork is impressive, furnishings are perfect, beds are comfortable and window-walls are amazing!

Paradise in a Tropical Forest
Posted Jun. 6, 2024 on HomeAwayThis was the exceptional award winning stay of all the places we stayed in during our two week visit to Kauai and the Big Island including resorts and VRBOs. Peggy, our host, is clearly felt in this lovely and well appointed home. This is not just a rental, but a home, beautifully constructed and furnished. Not that we do any less anywhere we stay, Peggy's home makes you want to care for it like it was your own.
The cottage sits in what is essentially a rainforest like environment without the rain (I'm sure it gets rain because of the lushness, but not during our visit), and at dusk you are serenaded by tree frogs, which makes cocktails on the long deck a real treat. Peggy was always accessible for questions, and she is an exceptional host. Eggs were in the refrigerator, fruit on the counter, coffee beans with grinder were provided as well as sugar and coffee mate (I got my own half and half though). I highly recommend this cottage, only minutes from Volcano National Park.

note: I provide as many nonparishables as I can for guests but do buy half and half when I'm there. :)

Fantastic house and location!
Posted Jun. 4, 2024 on HomeAwayMy family and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Pele's Secret Garden. The house was clean and had everything we needed for our three night stay. The setting is very peaceful and we loved the beautiful garden. It was easy to get to Volcanoes National Park and nearby restaurants. We would definitely stay again.
