Lindleyâs Little Gem-a cozy cottage close to the Silos
Wonderful Waco 1930's cottage completely restored just blocks from The Silos and Baylor. The location is ideal for Baylor games and events or visiting the Silos and all Waco has to offer. The cottage is comfortably furnished with antiques, a spa-like bath with a deep copper Japanese soaking tub, and Kitchen-Aid and Nespresso appliances. This home is adorable, functional, and homey. City of Waco license number STR000799-09-2021.
Property is cute and was clean. Many negatives I feel I must list, unfortunately.Major thing was AC units are extremely obnoxious. I read a review prior that said they were loud, and I thought no big deal, I like white noise when I sleepâŠ. Absolutely not. This was a loud mechanical noise coming from both units. Donât stay here if you are a light sleeper or need silence when you sleep.Other things to noteâŠ. Beds are very, very uncomfortable and scratchy cheap sheets. Nespresso machine but no coffee pods supplied to make it. Plugs in part of bedroom not working, so not able to use the TV or fan in there. Nice and big bathroom but no shower supplies such as body wash/ soap. Also hot water went out quickly. This could have easily been a 4/5 star experience, but needs time to fix these issues.
The place was adorably decorated, and it was close to Baylor which we needed. It was not in the best neighborhood. The master bedroom mattress needs replaced as it was sagging and not comfortable. The espresso machine did not work, and we called the shower a sprinkle, because while it was beautiful, it lacked water pressure.
It worked for a place to stay, but needs improvement on climate control and front door screen replaced. The climate control debices are very noisey and makes sleep difficult. Otherwise inside done nicely but too crammed with furniture
This little cottage was a great place to stay. Close to everything we had planned. Very quaint house with lots of thoughtful touches. Would stay again.
The heating system is not very efficient. The one in the bedroom goes on and off. This wasnât good with the cold weather we had. We had no hot water the morning we left, so no showers!! We had an important meeting on our way to San Antonio and we were uncomfortable having not showered!
Needed to be in Waco for a week to help my daughter with a large Baylor event. This was the perfect place - I LOVED the tub! Itâs only a block from I-35 so could hear the interstate noise but not a deal breaker. I was there during a winter cold spell and the cottage was warm and cozy. There is no washer/dryer even though the listing says there is. The nespresso machine with the complimentary pods was a nice touch!
It was my wife's 60th birthday so we took a small vacation to celbrate. Location was great for everything we wanted to do. Wonderful place and we would stay again. Thanks Susan.
3 of us stayed a couple of nights in this cute cottage. Beds were comfy, bathroom was awesome, kitchen fully outfitted. The full size fridge was great. There is no stove, but there is an induction hot plate for cooking, boiling and frying if needed. We really appreciated the nespresso machine. Being able to do laundry was a plus. Neighborhood is close to attractions and walking distance to a few restaurants and services. A car is best. The only negative is that the AC/heating units are extremely loud and we could not sleep with them in use. Other people have mentioned this, so we were prepared. Also, as others have noted, the space is perfect for two, and cosy for three.
The space was very cute, a little more cramped than the pictures suggested but fine for what we needed. The soaking tub was awesome! Espresso machine was a nice surprise. My only criticism is the air conditioning units were very loud. Activity in the neighborhood woke us up at 2 AM. It was somewhat unsettling. But again the inside space was nice and it is priced right
Perfect size house for a weekend get-a-way for my mom and I. Had everything we needed on site and close location to the Silos. Only negatives were the highway noise and dark neighborhood (we arrived in late evening after the sun set).
Perfect little gem. Small home as shown in listing but everything was strategically placed to fit perfectly and comfortably. Every little decorative detail was just lovely.
Great location to everything downtown. It is an older surrounding area of homes, as many areas are near downtown, but I never once felt unsafe. I will stay here 100% again.
It's a lovely little cottage stuffed with too much furniture. My complaint would be that the water in the shower goes from hot to cold back to hot for no discernable reason. The biggest problem is, the area is sketchy. We were accosted by homeless people twice, once right at the front door. But Waco is a 5 block radius of shops and restaurants surrounded by abandoned homes and businesses.
