The BEST
Publié le 14 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwaySuch a sweet place. My mom and I stayed here for a girls trip to Magnolia and the host exceeded our expectations. We were overwhelmed with how much they made us feel welcomed and at home during our stay.
The property is beautiful. We loved watching the birds out of the huge picture window each morning. The host made sure to provide everything you would need while away from home. I have never felt so pampered and welcomed before. I can’t wait to return for another adventure!

Loved the cottage

Beautiful Getaway Cabin
Publié le 6 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayStayed for 12 days with my partner and we were thoroughly impressed by all the amenities and privacy provided. Hosts are amazing, very obvious they care about their place and their guests. Bidet was a huge plus for me. Highly recommend.

Forest Cottage Get-Away

Doug and Donna gave us many surprises and treats during our stay. The cottage was immaculate, the bed, very comfortable, and communication with Doug and Donna was quick and easy.

Far beyond our expectations!

Beyond that, Doug and Donna went to great lengths to make our stay a very personal one, adding touches such as handwritten notes, fresh flowers, gift bags, and even a personalized sign with our names on it. So many unexpected touches to add charm and the sense you were really an honored guest in their home. Will definitely be back and will tell everyone I know about this one.

Top notch experience
Publié le 7 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was our first experience with VRBO and it set the bar high! The space was very thoughtfully and meticulously layed out to maximize space function. Extra day to day amenities were provided that you may have been forgotten such as bug spray, umbrella, board games, etc. The space was very clean and the A/C and plumbing functioned well. As a bonus, Doug and Donna went above and beyond to make the experience more personal by providing a hand written note and fresh bakery items. It is clear they are very intentional about making their guests stay a memorable one.
The location if you plan on visiting Homestead Heritage and is also only about a 15 minute drive from downtown Waco.
All in all, we would recommend this VRBO. We had a wonderful experience and would love to come back!

The host was lovely and had very thoughtful touches. We came to tour the Magnolia store and grounds but to our surprise, the Homestead shops down the street from the cottage had so much to offer as well.

Once in a lifetime adventure
Publié le 11 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayMy recent stay at Doug & Donna's charming cottage for the solar eclipse was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that they had poured their hearts into ensuring our stay was unforgettable.
Upon entering the cottage, we were greeted by the soothing sounds of jazz floating through the air. It was a warm welcome that immediately set the tone for our stay. But what truly touched us were the thoughtful personal touches scattered throughout the space. A handwritten welcome note, a birthday card (for my husband, alongside the eclipse), and delightful locally sourced baked goods awaited us. And to top it all off, a commemorative keychain and sticker to mark the occasion were unexpected but greatly appreciated gestures.
The cottage itself was a cozy haven, with ample space for our belongings, including two telescopes, a cooler, and a suitcase. Despite our abundance of gear, the cottage never felt cramped, & we were able to settle in comfortably.
Beyond the eclipse, the cottage provided its own entertainment in the form of a live show starring the local wildlife. The large window across from the bed offered a front-row seat to a charming performance by birds and squirrels, which provided endless amusement throughout our stay.
D&D cottage provided the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable eclipse adventure. Their hospitality, attention to detail, and warm demeanor made us feel truly welcomed and cared for. I cannot recommend this place enough!

What VRBO Aspires to Be

From the construction to the maintenance to the cleanliness to the MULTIPLE special touches, if you stay in this space you are signing up for time of peace and goodwill...and I am not exaggerating. Doug and Donna seem to have found their vocation. A five-star location that deserves six stars.

Wow! Thank you. The only thing you left out about the Forest Cottage is, for some reason, it attracts the sweetest couples who see only the good! …For which we are sincerely grateful.
