Cool it....if you can!
Publié le 16 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe arrived to a quant home located within the Baylor bubble. The home is nicely decorated.
We had great nights of sleep as the beds were very comfortable and the rooms cooled down to a comfortable sleeping temperature.
When we arrived, temperatures outside were over 100 degrees and the home was a balmy 78 degrees. Over the course of the evening the temperature didn't come down and climbed a bit higher, so I messaged the property manager and they sent a technician that evening. I was shocked. Responsive! He was extremely nice and stated that the air coming from the a/c was 58 degrees but the home is so old and didn't have any insulation with single pane windows that the a/c can't keep up. Cooking increases the temps in the home so no cooking or you have temps over 80 degrees. They have central a/c and a unit vented in the bedroom windows and you still can't get temps down.
The hot water was also an issue. Some days you get a hot shower and some days you don't. This was an issue every morning when we were showering. Thankfully, summer water from the tap is not cold so we worked through it. The prop manager did send a technician to work on that too.
It's a quaint home but we won't stay there again. It is old, the floors are warped but it has charm and we are into that. Unfortunately, we like creature comforts of hot water and an air conditioned home too.

Not the best but not bad
Publié le 2 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayI loved the vintage charm of the house. You could see where corners were cut it didn’t feel the cleanest. And the hot tub was basically in the front yard so that was wierd. It also smelt bad. And not to mention how busy the street it sits in is. So if you wanted to use the hot tub you would need to be ok with all the people passing by you. Not too relaxing.

Fun getaway
Publié le 3 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe enjoyed the property - it was renovated beautifully and the decor was gorgeous. We also enjoyed the hot tub. The house is just across from a small strip mall area and is a little busy, but once inside - the home was wonderful!

Adorable historic home near Baylor.
Publié le 13 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis quaint little house was perfect for a quick getaway to Waco. It was adorably decorated and perfectly situated near Baylor and several area attractions. There was a pizza place directly across the street and a donut store within walking distance. The patio area with a hot tub was a perfect spot to relax. The beds were comfortable and, while there was a lot of street noise (as listed in other reviews) there are noise machines to help block some it and it was mostly only on the weekends. It had everything we needed for our stay, but if you have kids who like to dirty a lot of dishes, you’ll want to bring some paper plates and cups. The manager was very responsive and helpful.

Great cottage, location, location, location
Publié le 5 mai 2023 sur HomeAwayMy wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this quaint little home. We live in a near century old home, so crooked and creaky floors are fine by us.
The pros:
Location, it is within minutes of ANYTHING Magnolia, the Cameron Park zoo, Dr. Pepper and Texas Rangers (law enforcement, not the ball team) museums and Baylor University. The home is nicely decorated and ‘feels’ like home. The off-street COVERED parking came in VERY handy, as we experienced some unfavorable weather during our stay. Heating and air kept us warm on some chilly nights and PLENTY cool when the temps rose. Overall, if we’re ever back in the area, we would DEFINITELY book again.
The Cons:
Location, while it’s very convenient to the sights and attractions, the home is located on a (what seemed to be) main thoroughfare through the area. The ignorant vehicle owners, with loud exhausts, loud stereo systems, and wreckless driving (speeding, mostly) were a pretty significant nuisance on more than one night of our stay. Lastly, the communication from, I presume, the management company, was severely lacking. On several occasions, our messages with questions were not answered in a timely manner…..this could have been HUGE, if there was a dire problem.
To summarize, as stated, our personal experience left us feeling as if we would definitely book this home again, and we would recommend it to anyone, with the caveat of, “if you’re used to a quiet and calm setting in life, you’d likely find this home less than favorable”….but it fit our needs just fine.
