When booking - it wasn’t clear that certain rooms were in a separate motel building
We came to our room at 11 pm to find a 1 story room with a window open. Someone could have just climbed in the room at any point before we got there. The building is quite dated. The bed had minimal blankets and small pillows. This might be one of the worst places I’ve stayed in decades.
Overall we felt unsafe and like we had ended up in an old motel painted like a hotel.

Best (only) option on this stretch of I-25

Walsenburg Oasis
Posted Aug. 16, 2024 on HotelsNice place to overnight near Walsenburg. Hotel staff gave us a list of restaurants that were open on Sunday. Nice touch. Fast food options near by as well.

I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff. there was a special of the day for breakfast, made to order, not the usual buffet.
The walls are a little thin, but nothing that would keep you up at night. the bed and pillows were very comfortable.
