Our friends' room reeked of smoke so badly that they kept their luggage in our room and only went there to sleep. It was not a clean room and the smell was horrible. I understand they were renovating but we clearly booked two "nonsmoking" rooms and that is not what we were given. I also got some runaround about us not receiving our check-in code because of booking through Expedia. Every other single email came through from the hotel, so I'm not sure why the room codes were any different. They're juggling two properties and need to do better or just focus on one.

We didn't have unrealistic expectations. However we did expect a clean room. There was pubic hair, dust bunnies and filth along the baseboard behind the bathroom door. Also, both the couch and footstool had disgusting brown stains. That made us distrust the overall cleanliness of the remainder of the room. We stayed at a "MyPlace" the night before which was the same price but immaculate. It may have just been a "bad look" and not your norm, but it sure made a very poor impression.

Carpet was stained but under newer ownership and I believe they are trying to improve it

We are very pleased with Simmer Motel. It is a very good choice for a low budget motel. I look forward to when the remodel is done. The staff was super! We will stay here again!

The room we are in smells “wet” and musty. I’m assuming there was a water issue or something in the recent past. Besides the smell, the carpet between the beds by the night stand it pretty gross. But other than that, the property is clean.

The Simmer Motel did not give me the room that I booked and paid for. I reserved the King Suite with a jacuzzi and four post bed and was given a different room. When I brought this up, they blamed Expedia and said that the room was unavailable (I have never had an issue like this with Expedia in my life). To their credit, they did give me a partial refund.
The room I ended up with, while inferior to what was advertised/that I booked, was okay. Just "okay." The temperature control unit was very loud, the bathroom was uncomfortably small, with a very small shower and almost no counter space. The walls weren't very soundproof (despite what was advertised) and I could hear the neighbors. The doors don't have keys and instead have a code system to lock/unlock, which was not very user friendly (our door took many attempts to lock every time), nor does it seem particularly secure. My stay was bearable but I wouldn't stay here again

Only complaint with our numerous stays is that the showers are Luke warm at best, water is never hot…..
