Family Football
Posted Oct. 7, 2024 on HomeAwayAfter reviewing other comments, I was prepared with extra towels and gifted the house with 4 new wine glasses. We walked each morning to the park and loved the houses decorated for Halloween. Even attended an event in the school nearby. Access to Washington DC was so near.
Great Location.
Only suggestion.. a few more working remotes.
We had a great time.

DC family visit
Posted Aug. 19, 2024 on HomeAwayThe property is nice and spacious. It wasn't far from the National Mall or other entertainment. The neighborhood was quiet and the people were nice. There was no off street parking which was a little challenging sometimes. a

Great Stay!
Posted Aug. 2, 2024 on HomeAwayWe had a wonderful stay and would stay in this home again. It worked perfect for our group. My daughter and I stayed upstairs and our friends stayed in the basement. The only issues we had was that some of the electrical outlets were not working and we could have used some more towels and washcloths. This was more of an inconvenience than a big issue. I would recommend having a mirror in every bedroom and at least a hand towel in every bedroom. But again it was a great lay out for our group. The neighborhood was nice and we never had any trouble with parking. Checking in and out was a breeze. We would stay there again if we went back to DC.

Great potential/good economy stay in the mean time
Posted Jun. 16, 2024 on HomeAwayThis spacious house is a great location for downtown DC. It also is in walking distance to local restaurants and shops. It sleeps more than listed but if you have a larger group, you will need to bring sheets and pillows for the futon and hideaway twin bed as well as washcloths(there were only 3) and extra towels. Floors are very nicely updated and clean. Kitchen is fairly stocked well but cookware had peeling non stick coating that may not be acceptable for some people. Refrigerator ice and water dispenser don’t work but there are 2 ice trays. We bought bottled water and a bag of ice which was fine. This is a bare bones home so if you want to play games or have books or anything entertaining other than the 2 tv’s that work (out of 4 possible) then bring that with you as well. We didn’t have any trouble finding parking in front of the house and the neighbors were very friendly.

I have both pros and cons
Posted Apr. 23, 2024 on HomeAwayI'll start with the pros. The check in was super easy and went very smoothly. The house is in a great neighborhood. It is conveniently located to the DC night life, stores and attractions. It was no more than a 15 min drive to get to the museums, which was a major plus. The rooms were spacious and comfortably slept 9 people without feeling like we are on top of each other. For the cons, there a few. The 1st being is that none of the TV's worked past turning them on. None of the TV remotes with the exception of one, had batteries. Every time we would try to connect to Netflix, we would receive a error in regards to a internet connection (even though the WIFI connection was extremely strong). The blinds on the patio deck door were not appealing ( they were messed up). We could not keep our snacks out on the countertops due to ants crawling all over. The fan on top of the microwave was was not secured. I was hit in the face when opening the microwave. In my opinion, since there were 3 full bathrooms, there should have been an equal number of hot water tanks. Lastly and most importantly, was the heat. The day before our check out date, the heat appears to be shut off. We've increased the heat to 90 degrees, it did not come on. So on the last night everyone spent the night freezing our tales off. I believe this house has a lot of potential to be great with a few upgrades and amenities.

Petworth DC
Posted Jul. 21, 2023 on HomeAwayThe property was about a 15 minute walk to the metro, and it was in a nice neighborhood with a small park nearby. The house was fine however, several light bulbs were out in the ceiling, and there were a few other minor things like that. We enjoyed our stay, my only complaints are that I reached out to the property manager 4 times for different reasons before and during our stay and he either never responded or was very slow to respond. When we arrived, it was 90° and the code he had told me to use to get in the front door did not work. I could not get a hold of him so I had to call the Vrbo main number, and after two different phone number attempts, he finally answered and said oh “Didn’t you get the email I sent you” which I had not. The email had a different code in it and his response was I’m sorry I didn’t see your messages. I was in the swimming pool with my son. We were standing out in the heat after driving 11 hours for over 45 minutes waiting to get in the front door and then when we got in the air conditioner was not on so it took a long time for the house to cool down. Two days later, after I asked him again, he sent me the email with the code and the check out information. If he knew someone was checking in that day, he should’ve had his phone near him in my opinion.

If I could rate lower I would!! Got double booked!
Posted May 1, 2023 on HomeAwayThe whole experience was great until I actually showed up to the property. We got double booked but given the same code so the next family could just walk in on the other family. The property manager did answer the phone but as soon as we told him what happened he hung up and would not answer the phone even for the police.
There was no water in the house at all and it never got fixed so we had to stay somewhere else. Vrbo customer support was equally as horrendous. We didn't get into a hotel until after 11pm with two small kids. They wouldn't even accommodate us for the amount of guests we're on my reservation. Still haven't gotten a refund and doubt it's coming. All around nightmare. Just book a hotel.

Three night, Two day stay
Posted Nov. 16, 2022 on HomeAwayWe had a good stay over a few days. Stayed with my daughter and three children. The beds were clean and comfortable. Nice to not need to bring sheets or towels. We used several Lyft and Uber rides to come and go from the city.
