Comfortable and good locations
Publié le 4 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe thought the property was clean, comfortable and close to our events. Would choose it again for sure.

Mostly as advertised.
Publié le 14 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis is a good value and the owners are working to make it a nice place to stay. The beds are comfortable and the home is equipped to meet the vacationers needs. There is no upstairs bathroom and the stairs are very steep. The water turns white clothes grey. The outside of the home is not well maintained. Overall a nice stay.

Quiet location
Publié le 16 août 2024 sur HomeAwayPros: This unit was spacious and the location country yet close to Wasilla. The main king bedroom was in the basement, which was very quiet and dark. Laundry detergent was provided. There were numerous condiments and spices available. There was good communication with the property owner.
Cons: The front steps have a slant to them and are dangerous and slippery. There was a live trap in the side yard which trapped a rabbit, was taken away, and returned. More attention could be given to cleaning: the range was grease covered and there were bread crumbs behind and underneath the toaster.
Overall, it was a good home base to explore the area. A solid 3 star.

So many safety issues
Publié le 14 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayApproaching the door to the house, we noticed the BBQ grill was full of cobwebs. When we opened the lid, the inside was filthy.
Upon opening the door to enter, there are very steep stairs to the basement to the side of the entry. There is barely enough room to walk inside without fear of falling down those stairs.
There are two steps up to the living room which are in poor light. The owners put some red tape on the edges which is very hard to see. Coming down those two steps always gave me pause.
The house sleeps six, but there is only one couch and two recliners in the living room - not enough room for our party of six to gather and converse.
Two bedrooms are upstairs, but the bathroom is on the main floor off the living room. The stairs to the second floor are quite steep and the treads are very narrow - definitely not to code. We had to leave lights on at night in the stairway and in the living room so that we wouldn't break our necks coming down to go to the bathroom. There is a sign that strongly urges people to use the handrail while on the stairs, but the two handrails were poorly attached to the walls.
We stayed two nights, and were provided with one outdoor garbage can which filled on the second day. As it was our last day in Alaska, we had extra food that needed to be disposed of, but no place to dispose it, so we ended up leaving unopened drink items in the fridge. Hopefully someone was able to enjoy them.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. Here are a few points to clarify:
You are unique as our guests love the house.
We never heard from you before or during your stay. We wish you had said something sooner.
Better communication could have avoided these issues, and we encourage guests to reach out with any needs or concerns.
Communication is key, and had we been informed during your stay, we would have addressed your concerns immediately or offered alternative accommodation. We strive to provide a positive experience and take all feedback seriously to improve our property and services
Entryway and Stairs: The House was built to code at the time of construction, we have added tape to steps for visibility. Lighting has never been a problem.
BBQ Grill: The cobweb-like material is from the nearby cottonwood trees. We will ensure our cleaning team addresses the pollination in the future.
Living Room Seating: In addition to the couch and recliners, there are 3 dining chairs in the adjacent kitchen and a bench with 3 chairs in the dining area. This arrangement is designed to accommodate six guests comfortably, with 4 more chairs in the closet.
Handrails: We regularly-inspect to ensure they are secure.
Garbage Disposal: One outdoor garbage can and a large dumpster are available on the property to use
Hopefully you found some enjoyment during your time in Alaska despite the issues mentioned after you left.

Comfortable and convenient
Publié le 14 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis is a great property to get a taste of Alaskan living. The house is secluded and private yet a short trip to all the stores/restaurants.
The beds were super comfortable. The hosts have added everything you could want from coffee to toiletries. Kids enjoyed the board games.
We were greeted by a family of adorable rabbits.

Great House!
Publié le 10 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a wonderful stay at Abby’s cottage. The location was perfect for exploring areas north of Anchorage (Wasilla, Palmer, Talkeetna, Denali). The house was immaculate, the beds were amazingly comfortable and the water pressure for showers was fantastic. The owners were quick to reply to texts during our stay and extremely friendly and helpful.
We would definitely recommend staying here to anyone who’s interested in exploring Alaska as a traveler, not just visiting the tourist locations.

Quiet stay outside the city hustle
Publié le 21 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayWe fell in love with Wasilla and the ease of getting anywhere from the house. It was still an easy drive to Anchorage to check out top attractions and look for moose. This home is a short ride to several lovely trails and lakes and is on a quiet dead end street.
Host was easy to reach with quick response when I reached out. The kitchen is well equipped, they have games on hand, and a lovely gas fireplace.
I would just be aware there are several steep stairs, I was traveling with my husband’s aunt and my parents and would have made other arrangements had I been aware so just sharing with others.
