Jacaranda bay - remote location but worth it
Publié le 16 janv. 2022 sur HotelsI visited The One during off season and covid mitigation rules, and due to this circunstances, I was surprisingly the only customer in the whole large resort. I got very warm welcome and free upgrade to a seafront apartment. Nothing major to complain other than the TV in the apartment did not work, neither did the wifi for some occasions. The resort location is remote from watamu bay and basic services but the hotel have good restaurant and other facilities. I managed to get a cheap uber from Malindi Airport to the Obe but to return I needed to order an expensive (3000ksh) taxi due to the remote location and lack of cars. It is possible to do kite surfing in a nearby resort. Jacaranda bay is amazing due to its gorgeous white banks that emerge in low tides.

The site is excellent. But:
- Staff very pleasant
- advertised as few slot available but number of customers never exceeded a dozen or five percent of total.
- Cost is very expensive compared to what is offered
- Acces is difficult and google direction was for another hotel
- for a full board choice of food was very limited and beverage was not included
- No snack available.

Natural beauty. Spacious and many beautiful indigenous trees. Excellent ocean access.

Absolutley enjoyed my stay here. The service was top Notch and the facilities were clean and comfortable.

We are glad to hear that your rate our property as a good holiday destination. We are aware that you had some concerns about the variety during your Half Board Meal Plan. As we talked in person i'll already apologized for the experience you had on the first evening. We have accepted to refund you the meal plan and we have promised to do it better one day later. Sadly we didn't get the chance to show you that we can do better. Our problems we had in the variety been happening in case of delivery issues from suppliers during this day.

Thanks a lot that you have taking the time to review your stay with us. It was a pleasure to have you for a couple of days with us. We are delight that you enjoy our cuisine that much and we will give your warm words to the kitchen staff.
We provide in our 48 hectare big property 24 hours free WIFI. In some moments- times it can happened that for technical reasons (signal, wind, rain) the WIFI is not so stable. We apologize for any inconvenience you might have had during your stay.
You we're on All inclusive Meal Plan during your stay. All inclusive includes following items:
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Soft Drinks, KEG Beer, Coffee & Tea as well all local Safari Spirits.
We have recognized that the Tusker KEG beer wasn't your favorite taste. We would have appreciated if you would have mentioned that we offer you an alternative during your whole stay without any extra cost.
You lost your room key. For security reasons it is necessary that we change the whole lock. In this particularly case there was no mistake from our side. That's why we have charged you a minimum of 25$ to replace the door system.
It was a big pleasure for us to have you in our paradise. We wish you and your family all the best and you welcome again at THE ONE.

If you are planning a relaxation get-away, this is the place for you. Although getting to the location was a bit tedious because of the 5km or so stretch of bad road before the resort, the resort environment itself was quite nice. The rooms were quite spacious and comfortable. The food could have been a lot better. I also think the hotel could have organized a lot more activities or made shuttles available for guests who want to venture into town. The WiFi was initially strong, but it developed problems towards the end of my stay. That said, the view from the rooms or the resort grounds are to-die-for. Amazing!
