Excellent Stay! Amazing Hosts!!
Publié le 11 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had such an amazing time. The hosts are very accommodating, thoughtful and kind. The places are very cozy, views are spectacular and the hot tub was fantastic. We didn't go in the river, but if the weather was warmer we would have taken a canoe or kayak for a spin. We will be back for sure!!

Lodge review of Riverwood
Publié le 1 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis is a beautiful and hidden asset, a lovely wooded ledge upslope from the Maumee River. Riverwood is at the base of low bluffs overlooking the river and consists of about a dozen cabins and smaller houses, almost all for short-stay rental. The host is a hilarious, friendly guide who through jokes, photo-taking and storytelling imparts a sense of the easygoing, vacationing atmosphere that's well supported at this hidden old-time fishing camp. The place is quiet, and located below a metroparks canal towpath trail. While quite close to the Toledo metropolitan area, it's rural and evokes a time maybe a century ago. The cabin where we stayed had mementos, signs and other features of an encampment for relaxation and restoration.

So peaceful
Publié le 27 août 2024 sur HomeAwaySuch a serene environment if you just want to relax in the hot tub, watch birds or fish jump. It also offers fun (and free!) self-guided activities as advertised. The "cabin in the woods" was rustic, but had the necessities (loved the free coffee and purified water!). The bed was like a fluffy cloud. The hosts, Parker and Cathy, were wonderful. Parker is a hoot and so friendly. The other patrons were chill too. We're coming back (all the way from California). Thanks for making our son's wedding weekend that much more special.

Spring getaway

Cabin by the River

Nice weekend get away
Publié le 7 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayIt was a very nice and unique trip. Just myself, my husband and our two dogs. The cabin is perfect for 2 people. The view is amazing and you're literally right next to the river. The hot tub was wonderful, with the river in the background. Plenty of kayaks, but we utilized the paddle boat the most. The owners are extremely friendly, pleasant and truly care if you are enjoying your stay or not.
There were two downfalls.
1. The water (well) is horribly stinky. We bought a few gallons to do dishes in and beush our teeth.
2. The neighboring cabin had a very large and very vocal dog. We could barely let our dogs to enjoy the outdoors because their dog was out alot and would not quit barking. All dogs bark and I get it but my dogs were there and they didnt bark. We were woken up Saturday and Sunday both at 630 to it barking. Made it hard to enjoy our hot tub and coffee in the morning.
This was in no way the Parker and Cathys fault (owners of cabin). I just wish others were more respectful with their animals.
