It was quite unfortunate that the room I booked had been assigned to someone else already when I arrived. There was another room though, less big, less comfy, incorporated into the owners' house that could be occupied. My first intention was to cancel the booking, but then I gave another thought to the situation, kept it as it was, accepted the small room for one night in order to spare all the hassle of finding yet another guesthouse. Instead I would keep the small room for the first night and get some 'free' food to compensate for the amount of money already paid online, then move to the comfy room the next day when available. That was the agreement I made with the owners. The events did not exactly unfold that way: I moved to the other room the next day and the day after and got some food. True enough, except that they had me pay 5000 SLR extra at the end of my stay. That is, half of the price I already paid online. Why? For the food that I had? I thought it would compensate for the first night. Even though the difference seemed excessive just for food, I did not like the idea of not paying for something that I owed or maybe I was just an idiot. Anyway, I let them the benefit of it but left with a bitter taste of that experience.
