Fantastic in every way
Publié le 6 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayCottage was as described, from the beautiful wood floors and furnishings to its’ unique window trim. Super clean and comfortable. But what raised the barr on this rental that tickled my grits was the welcome reception into Kay and Glenn’s home each morning for breakfast. Kay is quite delightful and put out a breakfast each morning that was over the top. Glenn was at the ready with a welcoming coffee and great tips on everything from day trips to accessible biking routes. Would definitely spend my pension checks to stay again.

Hi Tom—you are hilarious! It was great having you both for the week, then sending you off to continue your Vermont experience well north of here. I was wondering if you were going to mention the “window trim.” Now, we must provide some context to those reading this… Before Tom and Vickie’s arrival, we planned to replace all the exterior window trim on the south side of the Cottage. Well, as you would imagine, this became a source of daily amusement when “the trim” never got installed. Finally, on their day of departure, we once again planned to remove and replace that infamous trim, and send pictures. Of course, that didn’t happen either. However, the trim is now finally up and our new guests said, “The trim looks beautiful!” After writing this review response, I plan to walk down to the Cottage and send you some “beautiful” photos this afternoon. It certainly was a very fun week together—Kay certainly does phenomenal job with breakfast. We are so happy that we made you first visit to Vermont so special. Have a great year, and we can’t wait to hear about next year’s travels!!

Review of Pond Mountain Inn

Kay made some amazing Blueberry pancakes in honor of my mom that passed. And now she makes amazing red velvet pancakes with icing. Coffee was different every day, and very knowledgeable of area. Will be coming back again. I am from Maine originally, so this felt like home. Very welcoming.

Kay’s breakfasts are amazing—your request for Red Velvet Pancakes was a first, and I must admit, they were delicious. The homemade icing was the proverbial “ice on the cake!” You both managed to see a lot in five days, many of our favorites. It’s funny that you mentioned the coffee, I think our coffee may be the best in New England! We look forward to next year’s visit. Have a great autumn! All our best – Kay & Glenn.

Rustic Cottage

We found the property owners to be accommodative, knowledgeable and very friendly.
I highly recommend this property.

Pond Mountain

Great weekend

The hosts are wonderful people who made us feel at home and very welcome. Glenn’s insight about the area was spot on. Kay’s cooking was incredible. It was a great way for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary.

Perfect Stay

Thank you for your very nice review and kind words. And, you’re right, the Garden Cottage is like a private cabin in the woods—other guests have often said the same thing. It’s inviting, rustic yet delightfully comfortable open space that provides a sense of peace and tranquility. Still, though, mushroom foraging across the road was one of the highlights! Next year, we’ll get those elusive Hen-of-the-Woods…

I cannot believe it’s been nearly a month since your visit. Many apologies for taking this long to respond, but occasionally Vrbo takes far too long to “review” our guest’s reviews. Weekend in the Woods

Thanks, Bob, for taking the time to write a great recommendation! You all were great fun; it was nice sharing all the things we love about Vermont with everyone! And, the best part was dining al fresco both mornings—so fortunate that you had amazing weather! Taking the family on the 1.9-mile Lewis Deane Loop (hike) just down the road with spectacular views of Lake St. Catherine was certainly a highlight. Have a great summer!

Glenn and Kay are superb hosts!

Glenn and Kay went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed, and provide delicious breakfast (with lots of options). They also provided us with tips about the area such as trails to hike, places to eat, etc.
Would definitely recommend!

Less than twelve hours after your departure and you already posted this lovely review—WOW, and thank you so much!! Even more than the delicious breakfasts, it was the delightful conversation that made each morning special. And, thank you for the generous two-page note detailing the best spots in Portsmouth—we’ll definitely call you well in advance of our visit and look forward to “lay of the land tour”… very funny!!
