The centralized location in the middle of downtown Wellsboro was one of the key decisions when the Wellsboro Hotel Company decided to renovate this building in 1925 and re-open in 1926 as the Penn Wells Hotel. It's rich history, beautiful woodwork, ambiance, and a team that knows that history are all great reasons to experience this historic hotel such a treat. We do hope, Gary, to see you again soon!

Great location, easy walking accessibility to the main attractions in the town. Overall this is an old property (Hotel) which offers a laid back atmosphere.

The staff was amazing. Even made reservations for me at a neighborhood restaurant because theirs wasn’t open that night. That’s service. Will stay again for sure.

Front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable about the history of the hotel.
Room was clean and comfortable beds! Very quiet

Hi Austin,We're sorry you were disappointed with your stay. The Historic Penn Wells Hotel is definitely an old building, and we have chosen to keep it as it was when remodeled in 1925. Because of that, to some it may seem very ourdated, but to most that choose to stay in historic hotels, it is exactlywhat they are looking for. Some of the floors throughout the building are uneven. That does happen over time with natural settling and is something we are aware of.It's disappointing for us when a guest is expecting to stay in a modern hotel. If you had let us know at some point during yoru six-day stay, we would have done what we could to get you into our modern sister facility, the Penn Wells Lodge, just a two-minute walk from the Penn Wells Hotel. But without knowing you weren't happy, there's really nothing we are able to do.It is our gol to have every guest who stays with us to make their stay as pleasant as possible. If a guest is not happy, we urge them to please speak withthe front desk to allow us the opportunity to change you stay to one you'll truly enjoy. We're always here to help.
