I booked a room at this B&B thru Expedia for May 24,2023. On the morning of. May 24th (on route to the b&b, I received a phone call from the b&b not to come as the owner was hospitalized and there was nobody there to manage it. So, of course I made reservations at another place. Meanwhile, I cannot get thru the the b&b after several phone calls and emails.I immediately contacted Expedia and after they attempted to contact the b&b without success, Expedia informed me that they will not refund me. I am disgusted!

Unfortunately Poor/Non-existent Customer Service

We booked this stay several days in advance of our arrival. Upon arrival, there was a note on the door saying they were closed due to a medical emergency. No one had reached out via email or phone to give us a heads up. I was sorry to hear about the emergency and do still wish everyone good health. With that said, it is now a week out and I've been calling regularly and getting no replies. I'm hoping everything is alright and also wondering what kind of plan is in place for a refund.

The property was more than adequate for ambiance. Old home, 3 story, 3 sided veranda, attractive planting, clean. I was not aware that the owners would not be on the property or available. Calling the B&B always resulted in requirement to e-mail. I had several questions, but none of my e-mails were returned. All was left to a rather shy employee who did his best, but perhaps had too much on his plate. (I didn't realize he wasn't one of the owners until the very end of our stay). Be aware 3 of the rooms available are on the 3rd floor. It was a hike up and down. The claw foot tub was wonderful for soaking but challenging for showering. Nice breakfast served at 9am-fixed menu -creative. Small portions suitable to a lady. Do not think it would satisfy a hungry large male. No TV in our room, but the living room had a nice TV w/cable. WiFi worked well and we could watch programs on our computers. I would give it a 'B' - nice, but be informed.

2 issues; First the room had an extremely musty odor. Second I called and left a voicemail requesting a gluten-free breakfast because my wife has Celiac. I never received a reply and the proprietor never mentioned the call and did not offer an early breakfast as we needed to leave early. We personally were dissatisfied with the service and worse, the stale, musty odor in the room we stayed in. We could not recommend this Bed and Breakfast. Too bad we can’t be refunded.

Unfortunately, when we walked through the door, the smell was so bad. It’s a very old house and you can smell the stale air. The innkeeper was very kind, but did not understand my food preferences. The bed was very comfortable.
