Truly Shabby
Publié le 10 août 2024 sur HomeAwayBuilt and retrofitted (??) without craftsmanship. Maintained and cleaned without care. Examples:
1. Caulk joints in main bathroom could have been finger painted by a 3 year old. Mold habitat.
2. Shower mat had mold growing on the underside
3. Drip coffee maker had not been cleaned. The body had dried coffee slurps and splatters. The carafe had sticky residue inside - on the bottom and sides.
4. Door into front (queen bed) bedroom cannot close or latch. No privacy available for occupant(s).
5. Poorly fitted front storm / screen door had a ¾” gap at the bottom. All bugs welcome.
6. No floor mat in the only bath with a shower. Hello cold, slippery tile floor.
7. ONE wash cloth left in the kitchen? Only ONE available for a booking for 4 guests.
8. Towels absolutely threadbare.
9. Chipped paint on doors, trim, walls - everywhere. Complete neglect.
10. Rusty baseboard radiant heaters with bits of trash hiding below.
11. Shrub along walkway so overgrown you had to wade through wet, itchy branches or veer off the sidewalk through wet grass and then track it into the lodging.
If VRBO’s review system allowed, I would provide photos to substantiate these examples. Tried sleeping with a mask to reduce the mold I was breathing. Mask would not stay on. Awoke with congestion every morning.

I am very surprised at to read this review. As fellow hosts I would think you would know the importance of communication between guests and hosts. This is the first I've heard of anything being unsatisfactory. Many of the complaints you listed could have been resolved if you had reached out to me during your stay. I easily could have told you where to find a bath mat and additional towels and wash cloths. I would also have appreciated the feedback on the cleanliness of the property. This is the off season and I have been trying out some new cleaning people and the guests feedback on their performance will be key in determing who we will be using when the busy season is here. My husband and I are at the property monthly and have never experienced an issue with mold, nor have we ever heard this complaint before. I am confused that you continued to stay here for your three nights if the conditions with so detrimental to you health. I would think you would have contacted us and I would have gladly issued a refund so that you could go find another house rental or room at one of the many inns in the area that would have been more satisfactory to you. I'd like to remind you also, this is rural VT. The property is a 3 bedroom condo that you rented at $100 per night. We've chosen to keep our rental rate reasonable by not doing any major renovations. Past reviews show that people appreciate the reasonable rates and find the property to be satisfactory in return.

Wedding trip

Mt Snow ski trip
Publié le 26 févr. 2024 sur HomeAwayVery close to Mt Snow about 6 minute drive. Rental was as described. Not fancy but everything my granddaughter and I needed for a great week of skiing. The only problem for us was watching TV-Vizio no cable.

Bedding the right size was difficult to find
Publié le 19 févr. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe correct sheets and blankets for the beds were difficult to locate and some of us ended up not having the right sheets or blanket sizes for our beds.
Could have used some further information about available TV channels, how to access them.
Proximity to Mt. Snow and restaurants, etc is good. Thank you for having us.

Hi Patricia. I'm sorry if the cleaning people left out the wrong size bedding. I wish you had contacted me as there is plenty of bedding accessible to the guests. I could have easily pointed you in the right direction so you all would have had what was needed. I'm also sorry you had issues with the TV. It is stated in our listing they are cast TVs which the guests usually appreciate because you can stream your own accounts to it. If you had a problem using them, again I wish you had reached out to us to let us know and we could have walked you thru how to use them. I'm glad you enjoyed the location and I am happy I was able to accomodate your early check in request.

Location was great for skiing. There is a 24 hour 7-11 store very close which is helpful. It was unusual that the beds were not made (clean sheets folded but not on the bed) so we had to make the beds and also no starter wood for the fireplace. In general overall good.
